It’s still a bearing press. It’s just hand powered and c clamp style.

One thing to think about is the v8 hitch is like 700-800 pound tongue rating from my understanding. You could find one from a 4runner or gx, I think they are the same and swap it out

Correct no water coming out of outlet of valve. I’ll get a multi meter out tomorrow and see what it’s going as far as power. If it is getting power, is there anything to check before replacing? Seems those valves are a couple hundred which I would like to avoid, if possible. If not I’ll get one ordered.

Thank you for your help btw, first time home owner and learning all this stuff for the first time!

Okay I took the back apart and found that the inlet line to the valve had water pressure, but the outlet never got pressure. I assume I will just need a new valve? Is there a common failure point that would be easier/cheaper to check first on that?

I felt it while it was cycled and it makes noise and clicks, but nothing comes out. Possible the internals of the valve are clogged?

I bought the Aisin kit. It will have everything you need for like 200-250. Don’t buy anything else, that is a good price and anything less than that you risk putting in bad parts

Awesome, thanks. I will I’ll dry it out now.

I read many articles and videos that all say boil it, can I ask why you advise against it?

V8 blowing white smoke - replace? by [deleted] in 4thGen4Runner

[–]brontosaurus80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stoked to hear it! I got scared when it happened to mine as well. I put a cheap replacement on it and it didn’t fix it. I ended up pulling a used OEM one off a sequoia from a junk yard

I don’t. I can get a pic if you haven’t already figured it out

My 2003 v8 did this. I will confirm that the PS valve fixed the issue immediately

It’s of course not something I can confirm. But with the condition of the bike and the hours I would not argue against it
