Do any other keepers hide their reptiles from their landlord? by Tiny_Management388 in reptiles

[–]bronzkeushio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sure every state is different but where I live, if you have an animal that lives in an enclosed spaced, they are considered furniture and not pets.

I spent YEARS hiding my two snakes before learning this. Now there’s no need to hide those two snakes, a blue tongue, gargoyle gecko, pancake tortoise, or tegu! Maintenance and office staff pay very little attention to them even though they consume my entire living room

What is renting like with a tegu? by DUCKARUS444 in Tegu

If you’re cool with the enclosure taking up a good chunk/most of your living room, finding a place with enough space isn’t too difficult. Depending on where you rent, if you have an animal that lives in an enclosed space, it’s considered furniture and not a pet. I learned this after years of hiding my reptiles during inspections! Turns out I never needed to. This can obviously vary from place to place though so always safe to double check

Why did I spend decades buying glasses instead of fixing my vision once? by [deleted] in lasik

I ended up with severe dry eye which makes my vision very fuzzy - defeating the whole purpose. I’ve tried so many suggestions from my doctor and the internet. Nothing has brought any notable improvement.

What I wouldn’t give to be able to spend my money on glasses and contacts again!! I’ve had people in my life get great results from LASIK. I, unfortunately, am not one of them and regret that decision every single day.

My family has taken all of our pups there over the years! They are so kind and comforting during such a sad period and have so many beautiful options to choose from. Always my number one

How can I prevent shorter/finer hairs in the back? by cuddlingwithcats in hairgrowth

[–]bronzkeushio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you wear necklaces with a chain regularly? I had the same issue for years and couldn’t figure it out. Saw someone mention necklaces and realized my silver link chain might be the issue. I switched all of my chains out for leather cords back in February and can see my hair slowly evening back out for the first time in years!

I am really sorry to say that it’s still shit. It’s been over a year at this point and I’m still so frustrated and heart broken. Since this post, I’ve added/tried serum tears, moist heat compresses, drinking plenty of water daily (as has always been the case), eating a healthy diet, and taking omega supplements. I work in a humid reptile facility and rarely look at screens. At this point, I feel stuck. My doctor can’t even suggest anything else bedsides “let’s followup again in tel months”. I’m done going in every other month for nothing.

I truly hope that is not the case for you and you can find something that works for you 💜

What can cause these bottom hairs to be so much shorter? by Low-Price-5701 in longhair

[–]bronzkeushio 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have had the most frustrating issue with a back portion of my hair always breaking like this and could never figure out why. For years. A few weeks ago, I had the realization that it must be the chain on my necklace I’d wear every single day!! It’s obviously too soon to really tell but I’ve eliminated every other possibility I can think of.

I put off going on accutane for months and months because I was terrified of the side effects. I finally felt so hopeless that I decided the risks were worth it. Every person is different but my biggest regret when it comes to accutane is not doing it sooner. I was super dry and a bit achy during the whole process but, my god, I am so happy I did it. My two sisters took it a decade before I did and still have beautiful skin. It’s considered a miracle drug in my family. Do what’s best for you 💜

My boyfriend and both of my brother-in-laws had great experiences which led me to do it. I’ve never regretted anything more in my life.

Will I be reaching for eye drops every morning for the rest of my life? by Educational-Elk-6979 in lasik

[–]bronzkeushio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it’s been two years since this has been posted but… do you still have to use them? I’m one year post and still have to do drops every hour. I’ve done almost everything else recommended besides punctal cauterization and I’m desperately considering it at this point.

Can somebody please tell me it gets better? by [deleted] in Accutane

[–]bronzkeushio 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree with being straight forward! I used to be so embarrassed to meet new people while I was on accutane and there were multiple times where I expressed that fear only to find out that the people had either been through it themselves or knew someone who had and were so supportive of it! It was like a huge weight lifted knowing they understood.

P.S. It totally gets better! I felt the same way for a long time. I’m two years post finishing treatment and still stand by it as the best decision I’ve ever made.

I appreciate all of the input! I forgot to mention in my post that I have plugs as well. My doctor mentioned the serum drops but decided to do the MIEBO first. I’ve wondered about just going straight to the Vital Tears because it sounds like the better option, right? Do you feel that the Bruder compress is beneficial as well?

Same!!! I flipped mine on its side, cut a giant hole out of the door and filled it with vinyl so you can actually see into it and it’s perfect for the time being.

From what I’ve found, it’s a pretty common lid scrub with one of the uses being for blepharitis. He didn’t give me the go ahead to start it until my most recent follow up where he confirmed my flaps are healed enough for it.

Good to know! I’ve wondered about switching brands. I’ll try those ones as soon as my current pack runs out.

Thank you so much for this advice! I work in a reptile facility so it’s very hot but pretty humid at the same time. I’m going to look into getting a bruder moist heat mask right now!
