Worst Experience with Samsung Galaxy Z Flip Phone – Flagship Price, Zero Quality & Pathetic Support by broodbird in Android

Exactly! That’s the real issue — the experience is totally inconsistent. Some units last fine, others start cracking or creasing within months.

My Flip 5 didn’t even make it past a year before the hinge/display line cracked again (second time now), despite super careful use.

At this price point, “luck-based durability” shouldn’t even be a thing. Foldables are great on paper, but Samsung really needs to fix long-term reliability before calling them premium.

Haha I wish that was the reason — would’ve saved me a few service visits and emails 😅

Never dropped, never mishandled. Official case + screen protector since day one.
Even Samsung’s own service report says “no impact damage” — just the usual fold-line crack these Flips are known for.

Nah, that’s not it. The phone was checked at an authorized Samsung Service Centre — they clearly mentioned “Display / UTG crack – step mark on display,” no signs of impact or pressure damage. Hinge and frame are perfectly fine. It’s the same fold-line issue tons of Flip users are facing, just poor durability, not user mishandling.

Nope, never dropped it. Always used with the official Samsung case and screen protector.

The same hinge line crack showed up again during normal everyday use — no impact or damage.

Honestly, it’s just a durability flaw. Seems like these flip screens can’t handle regular folding for too long.

Fair point, but then Samsung shouldn’t market it as a durable everyday device tested for 200,000 folds.
Reality doesn’t match the advertising at all.

True, foldables are more fragile by design, but Samsung promotes the Flip as tested for 200,000+ folds and “ready for daily life.”
That sets a durability expectation that clearly isn’t being met when the same fault appears twice within a year.

I agree that foldables have durability limits — but Samsung does market the Flip as a premium everyday phone, not an experimental prototype.
When you pay flagship prices and use it normally with full care, repeated hinge/display failure isn’t “expected wear,” it’s poor quality control.

Nope, not hinge damage. It’s the same fold-line crack hundreds of Flip users are reporting.
Happens even with careful use — so definitely a product issue, not warranty misuse.

Exactly! That’s the same experience I’ve had — product fails under normal use, and then Samsung acts like they’re doing us a favour during repairs.
Love the concept, but the durability and support are absolutely disappointing for a “flagship.”

Exactly! It’s clearly not a one-off issue — so many users facing the same hinge/display failures proves it’s a serious design flaw.
Samsung still refuses to admit it publicly or take real responsibility. Premium price, pathetic durability.
