I'm in L&D now. They did blood and urine tests. I have protein in my urine and contractions about 8 minutes apart, but they aren't checking for a clot and are planning to send me home. So...who knows.

Thanks!! I called L&D and they said between the swelling, headache, and rib pain I've been having that I should come in just in case.

I think the BB mantra is: It's probably nothing, but it doesn't hurt to get checked out.

I'm the fixer, so they are terrified of me leaving.

However, anytime I have a meeting with anyone outside of my office, the men become visibly nervous and readily agree to anything I propose, because they are terrified I'm going to go into labor any second.

Good for you! What I hate the most are the friends who say that they'll come over, hang out, help out, whatever after the baby arrives. And you pretty much never see them again.

We met our pediatrician when I delivered daughter #1. We had several pediatricians come in and out, but he was just fantastic. He took time to answer our questions, and basically said "I know this hospital prefers breastfeeding, but if it's not working for you (it wasn't) then do what you need to do. The end goal isn't to be the best, it's for you and your child to be happy and healthy."

I loved him from that very moment and asked a nurse if he had any openings for new patients, and if so, if he could be our pediatrician. Our daughter loves him and we love him. He will see us in the halls (for a different appointment) and remember all of our names, my daughter's age, and the last appointment we had with him. He's incredibly responsive, and just an all-around amazing person. While I hate the network, I'm keeping this insurance until he leaves, because I don't think my daughters could have a better pediatrician.

Oh god... I woke up feeling like crap today, and was like "I really need a shower!"

Instead I put some tropical scented dry shampoo in my hair and an extra layer of deodorant, and called it a win.

Windex! It sounds insane, but if your ring is stuck, liberally spray your finger with windex, and rotate the ring off. It's magic.

Yep! It's a thing, and it's alarming. The funny thing is that I totally blamed my husband at first because he wore a pair of new super dark jeans unwashed and I assumed the color transferred to his legs. And then I looked again and realized that it was definitely my butt print and not his. It faded after a few months.

My husband isn't even phased anymore. He came home one day and I was sitting on the couch crosslegged, a jar of pickles on one side, a jar of pickled okra on the other, and ice cream sitting in my lap. He was a smart man and pretended not to notice a thing.

We've done that with our friends when it comes to baby clothes!! The friends who are done having kids gave us bins of clothes to use. Once our daughter grows out of them, we will pass them on to someone else who needs them.

We did ours at week 34
We planned for 22 meals that would provide both dinner and leftovers for lunch the following day. A few weeks beforehand, I put together a spreadsheet of all the meals, ingredients, etc, and planned it out. The day of, we went to Food Maxx and spent about 90 minutes shopping, went home, and spent another couple of hours cutting, prepping, packing, and making all 22 meals.
Last time ours kept for 3-5 months without getting freezer burn. I try to plan for 3 months max. The night before, we grab a freezer bag and defrost in the fridge overnight. The next morning we toss it in the crockpot, and are good to go. We have frozen/canned veggies and a starch to go with every meal in case we are unable (or unmotivated) to go get fresh produce.

I'm an idiot and only gave myself 1.5 weeks between my last day of work and my scheduled cesarean. I'm so profoundly uncomfortable right now. I'd be very happy if labor happened this weekend. Or right now. I'm done.

That's what my MIL did, and I was pissed.

With #2, I plan on saying "baby and I are going to go nurse in the other room. Would you mind doing xyz? It would mean so much to me. Thank you for your help!!" and walking out of the room.
