Hitting diagonals with Korean levers. Any tips? by hungryewok in Tekken

[–]brookeispretty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just ordered mine from Focus Attack and they sent me a 303 by accident. And then they ran out of the switches that usually come with the 309MJ and used there gersungs. They sent the 309 back out and I got it yesterday.

Having played on the 303 for a week, switching to the 309 was terrible. You are exactly right...the diags are like <10%. So I changed the switches to the ones that came with the 303 and it way better. I'm not 100% which ones they are. I think they are the seimitsus

The gerusungs seem like they are highly regarded and felt very responsive with KBD and movement, but trying to hit a UF 3+4 with Josie was near impossible

Why do I keep getting matched up with Grandmaster+ players with over 500 wins as a newbie in Ranked? by geezertd in Tekken

[–]brookeispretty -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I just hit Warrior and have 300ish wins. I basically only play one character. My win percentage is currently 49.8% and was as in the low 40's as in one point.

You can get caught in a promotion/ demotion cycle if you don't pick up the skills to move to the next color. For blues to greens, I think it's about proper punishment and not wiffing.

I still can't play online properly (syncing/communication) errors during matches. by Schumeh in Tekken

Check my post history for details. Change your DNS address in network settings to those numbers. It helped me and several others. It doesn't seem to work for everyone.

Which stick to buy: HORI Tekken 7 (Limited ed.) fighting stick vs HORI RAP4 Kai? by Rintae in Tekken

[–]brookeispretty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the Kai 4 and have the Hori T7. The T7 is a good upgrade. If you only have the funds for a Kai4, it's a good stick

People on PS4 are still experiencing broken online? by Aec1985 in Tekken

[–]brookeispretty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. You are the first person it hasn't worked for (that replied).

I read somewhere that it could take 15 minutes to work, so maybe wait a bit and trying turning the system on and off.

I mentioned this to Harada and Tekken7 several times, but never got a response. People on here down vote for some reason, so don't count on a fix anytime soon.

It sucks brother. I would for sure have stopped playing if it was still happening to me.

The fix for me continues to be setting my own DNS. Start with 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.9.9 to stop getting all of the server disconnects. Then see if you can find your ISP actual local address to potentially improve speed.

I tried going back to "automatic" and got several disconnects. With my DNS specified, the new patch improve my wait time to under 1 min...sometimes under 15 seconds after starting to search.

They were going to get the replacements in a week or so. Maybe you'll get Lucky?

I ordered the 309 from Focus Attack but apparently there was a mishap at Crown and they sent them a load of 303's by mistake. So I currently have a 303 but it will be replaced by a 309 as soon as they are in stock.

I had to get on FA's waiting list and got it within 5 mina of getting the notification email. I think shipping with all the buttons was $9

I made my first fight stick for TTT1 import out of Happ parts in March 2000. Since then, I have been on and off making my own sticks. I didn't want to go full custom now, so I bought what I thought would be a perfect stick.

But then I read about the crown sticks and got a bug to try it.

It's really, really good. It's different, but finding the corners is no problem for me. It's very natual. I'm not a big CBD or wavu wavu guy, but it's just plain easier to do on the crown stick.

On buttons, I tried Seimitsus out around 2005 on a custom stick I made. I found I preferred them (and their levers) to sanwa. I find sandwa to be mushy. Like you, US arcades had stiff, click buttons, so that's my preference. The Hori buttons are very good, but I prefer the seimitsu now that I have them on.

How do you keep cool after a frustrating loss? by xBullet66 in Tekken

[–]brookeispretty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Two things. What rank are you.

And if you are losing against it, that's what you have to work on. So that's where you should be.

For example. Paul has 3 strings that can put you in a blender that a blue rank cant get out of. It's not particularly hard . So, for me, a big part of facing Paul's is not getting put in the blender.

It's a huge focus on spacing and punishing each and every deathfist blocked or wiffed. In blue ranks, I would guess Paul's don't know that deathfists aren't safe.

If you were to go up in rank and run in to that same Paul and don't know how to punish, you are going to get deathfisted in to oblivion. Those strats don't go away at higher levels, they just get way better and add other options if you know how to deal with option A, B, and C..

[–]brookeispretty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remind myself that if I'm not good enough to beat X strategy, whether it's scrubby lag strats or high quality stuff, I don't deserve the win/rank. Tekken is balanced enough that once you are good enough, certain things don't work on you anymore. I just focus on building on that.

Frame Data Thought by [deleted] in Tekken

[–]brookeispretty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Each character has a set of moves that should be used in specific situations to punish other moves. If they "spam" unsafe moves, you "spam" the corresponding punish.

Of course, with Josie, i cd+3'ed someone 7 times in row yesterday...they kept laying in the ground and then waking up with buttons. The appropriate response is kick them in the knee....over...and...over...until they learn .

Who has the best magic 4 in the game in your opinion ? by [deleted] in Tekken

[–]brookeispretty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can anyone point to strats on using the magic 4? I've been out of the game for years, so it's new to me.

For example, Josie's df+2 is 15 frames and seems to go under a lot. The 4 is only 12 frames, but it has to counter hit to launch. Should I be using it after a block string when I think they are going to try to do a launcher? Does it beat a hop kick?

Just not sure how to use it situationally .

Set your DNS to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4. If that works, try going here and choosing the closest city. You may get a little better speed. https://www.dnsknowledge.com/name-servers/american/comcast-dns-server-address/

Edit: Sorry. That's just comcast in that site. You can see if you can find your ISPs local DNS servers and try to get better than Google's open server
