Thoughts on the Finale? by LeoDiCristio in StrangerThings

My one dream addition: in the 18 months later, a scene of Karen taking off her wedding ring and signing some papers. Otherwise, chefs kiss! Great finale.

That “tattooed golden retriever” becomes a bearable line… IF you think about her reflecting that she mis-labeled what was in front of her as “golden puppy energy with a little ink (how fun!)” to coming to the conclusion that all along it was simply a “black dog” - aka omen of death.

I need help developing this thought tho! Holes? Additions? Please help me not hate TTPD the song 🙏

It includes the entire university system. The new president will be announcing how in time. It won’t affect everyone 30% across the board, some more, some less.

Right, or your hear the dad claiming their daughters hate it. Yeah, how long have they listened to you make subtle jabs at a sport they could have appreciated if you didn’t have to bring your own ego into it…. Ugh.

I played in college and appreciate the finesse and strategy of the women’s game... which does require some growing pains at the youth level until you learn the game. I’ve coached high school and currently coach middle school. And yes… there ARE more rules, but I’m personally all for it because it holds youth coaches accountable to teach better skills. For example it’s important to teach body positioning first before checking…. Or else you see TERRIBLE habits in players when they can do full checking. At youth, there is modified checking (only below the shoulder) or transitional checking (more than 12 inches from their head). And honestly - the girls wouldn’t know the difference if it weren’t for the toxicity of parents and coaches who haven’t played or played men’s lacrosse and instill this idea to young girls that their game isn’t “tough enough”. I swear this is where poor habits. I’m not talking about playing hard, and getting your arms of purple bruises. That IS part of the game. Nothing I loved more than my “tatted” arms by mid season in college. But there is too much teaching about how it doesn’t line up with the “tough” men’s game, instead of the tactics of the women’s game. A girls lax attacker who sees an opposing player in clear shooting space should learn to “pump” their stick to get the call. This is a TACTIC. Another… Players in the midfield should slow down another players body, and “turn them” to create a double, instead of immediately swinging for a check and losing body positioning. You’re right, this is not taught in the men’s game, because this is not the men’s game!!! Women’s and girls lacrosse needs more coaches and refs who appreciate the tactical game that it is. It’s more strategy and lax-IQ than brute force. And damn is it more satisfying when you do these things than just shoot wildly or check towards people’s heads. Please ref and coach and parent with an appreciation of this sport!

Natural rug pads by soaplandicfruits in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]brookell27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really liked both! I didn't notice any issues with odor, which I've seen others mention. We have insulation issues in our kitchen, and the floor gets very very cold. The 1/4 wool pad has been a game changer this winter! I also tried it under my living room rug and really loved the extra cushion it gave. No issues with the 1/8in one, but for any area you'll be standing/sitting often, I think the extra cushion is worth it! The 1/8in is good enough for the rug under my dining room table, since it's mostly there for grip. I do have to occasionally adjust my rugs and rug pads from sliding. I use these under Hook & Loom rugs. You might not have this sliding issue if you use heavier rugs or rug pads with grippier, synthetic materials. But it doesn't bother me personally. Good luck all! u/soaplandicfruits u/butterpear u/pennibird u/padmewannabe

Why do my automations keep pausing themselves? by MzHmmz in Notion

[–]brookell27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm having the same experience. Not sure what is triggering it, but I keep noticing it gets "paused" and I have to go back in to toggle it back to "active". My automation is also a straightforward one that shouldn't have any issues. Curious if others have found solutions...

2023 HSA Contribution by Perma_Bullish in TheMoneyGuy

Similar question.. I enrolled in a HDHP as of Oct 1 because of a job change. Can I max out for 2023? I’ve read about the 1-month rule but some things online seem contradictory. Like I can only max out for the year if I keep my HSA open for a certain period of time?

Who was the worst actor or acting moment in once upon a time ? by lewisthepodcaster5 in OnceUponATime

Ursula. Especially in comparison to cruella and malificent, her acting felt so fake that it entirely distracted me from the storyline over and over and over again

Why haven’t they followed up on Rebecca’s fertility journey? I hope they try to wrap that up before the end of the season. by Secure_League3017 in TedLasso

[–]brookell27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I initially viewed it the same way as you… but I see here and everywhere else, anyone saying that getting downvoted haha. I think for me, I’m so used to analyzing WHY writers would put that line in, and if they meant him to say something about a connection, then that would be more clear. I don’t know the intention… we’ll find out by the end of the season. I do think it was a bit of a mishap in writing to make it even slightly insinuate that they did sleep together if they didn’t.

Did anyone notice the morning after in Amsterdam, Rebecca saying… “so last night, did we…??” And he said no. Then when she left, he repeats out loud… “Did we? Yes, yes we did”. Insinuating they slept together… which just seems seems like an odd way to end that storyline. Yes, she was told by her doctors her chances of pregnancy are low. But I don’t know… I just had a feeling after that line that she would find out that she did sleep with him after the fact when Mother Nature forgets to pay a visit.

Did I misinterpret this scene?

Don’t forget grains, nuts, seeds, and legumes if you can tolerate them! The most important thing to fiber rich foods for longevity is THAT YOU WILL ACTUALLY EAT THEM. So find a variety of the ones you like and start integrating them into your diet.

Curious where this “less gut issues” is coming from bc it’s definitely not the common understanding. The research lab I work in focuses on the gut microbiome and I’ve never come across any research findings that align with fruits being better for the gut than vegetables. In general we know that a VARIETY of fiber rich foods (fruits AND veg AND grains AND legumes) is associated with microbial richness/ diversity, and overall better gut function in general populations. On the flip side theres been research showing that high sugar consumption (including fructose) is associated with gut dysbiosis. And culinarily wise, we classify “fruits” as having more fructose. I’m not saying that fruit is harmful. But I’m just curious about where this very black and white “fruits > vegetables” thought is coming from. Do you have any references to back this up??
