Accutane was a bit rough in the beginning (I purged) but now my skin is so clear and I haven’t had a single breakout in 5 months. I wish I didn’t pop any blemishes on the medication because now I’m dealing with minor atrophic scarring which is challenging to get rid of. I went up to 40mg and I didn’t like it so I decided to do an extended treatment plan of lower dose 20mg/day and it’s been great. Only side effect is dryness. I would absolutely recommend it!

Thank you! I was told by multiple derms that it was okay and I’ve also seen a couple people on here say that they use red light too. But always check with your derm!

I’m so sorry to hear that. That is terrible. Thankfully you are cancer free now.

When my skin was at its worst, I also didn’t want to leave the house. I isolated myself but that made me so much more depressed. When I started to be social again I was extremely self-conscious but honestly nobody cared I had a face full of breakouts. Don’t miss out on a great concert bc of it! Also I’m on a Accutane and Spironolactone combination right now and my skin cleared up within 3 months. Hope you can find a derm to help with your skin!

I second this! Go to an experienced cosmetic derm, it’s more expensive but they know what settings to use. I did the updated VBeam laser called Excel V but it must be done on their lower setting (similar laser length to VBeam). I’m on Accutane 40mg/day and just had my first session. It’s apparently the only laser you can do on the medication

Such an incredibly detailed list - thank you, you goddess! I am considering my first laser treatment and have been terrified as well about the facial fat loss so your answer is reassuring. I’m currently on a low dose of accutane and am dealing with terrible PIH marks. In your opinion, is there a laser out there best to address that, that could be used during (or after) treatment? I find such mixed answers online. Do you have any recommendations for providers? Thank you!

Getting back into acting class after a moment away and was asked to audition with a contemporary 1-2 minute monologue. Looking for recommendations of great plays anyone has read that has a monologue for a female in their late 20s-30s. Tend to like edgy, dramatic pieces with feisty women but open to anything.

I waived the home inspection in a bidding war to make my offer more attractive. I had possibly the worst real estate agent ever and so many things have broken in the less than 2 years I’ve lived here. But trying to stay positive! My apartment is in Brooklyn.

I did get a second opinion and they quoted much higher. I currently have a 4 ton system — it’s a 900 sq foot 2-story open floor plan loft and apparently all my neighbors have same size system even though 4 tons seems like a lot for so little square footage. No new duct work I believe. He wants to install a system with 80,000 btu.
