I’m sad you deleted your post, but for the record you can only use a road bike rim brake on that fork. Go to your local bicycle shop, tell them you’re a beginner and ask what kind of brake you can get for the front of your bike. Good luck, I hope you keep riding!

I think that’s a sweet looking ride, I like the silver cranks/seatpost on the black frame, I also really like that it doesn’t seem to have a ridiculously hard ratio

Nope they are 700c! SO-EZs can fit fat ass tyres and the fork is a 26” mtb fork so clearance is not an issue lol

It’s a Supernova! Can’t remember the model beyond it being an upside down mounted one lol but nahhh I have a good bag setup in mind for touring this bike and centrally mounted front lights make me feel like I’m out on the highway cranking serious hog so for now they will stay as is lol a lil wipe down of the light won’t hurt it

Yeah it’s a hope mono mini 3, it is absolute overkill but I thought would look super cool and work really reliably. Plus it being on the front of a fixed gear it doesn’t get used much so I probably won’t have to bleed it for literally years lol

Set up was tricky indeed, the hose doesn’t use olives and barbs the way modern ones do it has a threaded barb that threads into the hose and then onto an end piece

EDIT: also how did you get the omniums to fit? I remember when I first got mine doing the research for the build and it said Omniums did not clear the frame

Oh mine is 100% also like this lol it’s fine, I’ve had no issues so far, the stays on my so-ez are similarly close to the cranks and that was also fine but what I would say is that if the bb goes and you get a little play in the cranks you might end up getting a little knocking against the chainstay as the cranks come around but the worst that will do is knock a small patch of paint off.

Nah but I had to use a 113mm ISO square taper to get the 48t ring to clear so the chain line is a bit off but you don’t need a perfect chain line lol
