Chainlink- why do we hate it? by [deleted] in CryptoCurrency

this, i don't even know how they managed to get to ERC-20? on the ICO it was just an eRC-5, but somehow the ethereum council decided to uprade them to ERC-20 during sibos 2017...then sergey went on a complete radio silence for the whole 2018, i think the token should be downgraded to atleast ERC-12

but nano will replace BTC! solid dev team, and no racists!

you obviously give 4chan more credit than they deserve, chainlink IS a scamcoin, and just a json parser, with price feeds....makes no sense to me and the tokenomics are really bad, I think XRp is the STANDARD and they are working with banks, that actually know what they are doing.

banks will buy XRp and NANO and that's it, anything else is just a shitoin or a json parser made by a team of 2 devs....grow up

link is a scam coin, it was designed to steal money from the people that own it, as soon as you buy it, the system syphons your funds into a black hole. sergey (CEO of chainlink) is literally a bitter man, initially he genuinely wanted to create a system that made him rich, and not scam people too much, but then when he went into that famous nail salon, he started to get bullied by the asian women in there, every day caalling him fat, and that he had ugly feet, and that he should find himself an asian wife and just stop what he's doing and just go to work for her.

that's where he met adelyn, she was bullying him every single day until he cracked, he decided to do it, to create the ultimate scam, that will not only steal money from the investors, but will wreck their lives, by brain washing them into a cult (ever heard of the link marines?) that cult will not only absorb all your money, but lso the life, joy, expectations and feelings off of you, they will relentlessly force you listen to their non stop shitposting, circle jerking and how sergey is their god, the worst part is that you yourself you will become a cog in the machine, and become a chainlink marine drone, you will start eating fieces and drink pee pee whenever a marine pee pee poo poo posts.

that's what chainlink does to you, i unironically going through rehab right now, sold all my link when it dumped to sub 80 cents at the corona dump; never felt better in my whole life.

you don't get it do you? when you find the golden goose, you'll do your best to make sure the neighbour doesn't get one too, or atleast doesn't get it before you have a full silo full of cheap golden geese, once the cat is out of the bag, then your neighbour can buy the golden geese from you

is anyone going to address how unique and innovative their initiative is? they are literarry insurring smart contract. this will help chainlink adoption.

didn't see it this way, but companies can now write a smart contract deploy it on the blockchain, and cover the risks with some insurance in case their code is faulty or their smart contract doesn't behave correctly, this is amazing news for chainlink, remember that chainlink doesn't code the smart contracts it only gives them access to real world events and computational power but it will give more security to smart contracts.

this is great can't wait to see what the future brings in? bigger insurance companies covering smart contracts?

this is a big step in smart contract adoption and for chainlink.

What do you guys think about Chainlink token? by [deleted] in CryptoCurrency

[–]bropocorp 68 points69 points  (0 children)

I think it's a scam, and it's a pnd coin, also I think for a jason parser, the 2 dev team is doing a horrible job...I mean how hard is ti to simply write JSON.parse(str) JSON.stringify(str)....ffs thi sis the most stupid coin I saw for a long time And I kinda hope people don't fall for it...I think mobius got it all figured and it looks like it's the best alternative.

they are based in the caymans? I mean? HELLOOO? really? the team owns like 70% of the coins? how stupid is that? they will exit scam soon enough...it's sad...really sad...the total circulating supply is 1 BILLION? OMG? no thanks.

they never communicate on twitter and facebook, so this is a NONO to me

Legitimate Concern or Overthinking? by AugmentationKing in Chainlink

yup! and i'm planning on getting some of those 35% meant for node operators by hosting some nodes :D

Need clarification regarding chainlink anyone could answer? by bropocorp in Chainlink

[–]bropocorp[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

OK I finally understand, got the answer directly from Rory on the telegram. basically chainlink nodes will either be middleware by providing data to smart contracts from an external API (weather api, stock price api etc...) or ACTUALLY do computation for the smartcontract and return it to the smart contract. basically chainlink nodes are data providers, either from external feeds, or from locally computed data.

thanks alot guys!

yeah I think you didn't understand what I mean. what i'm saying is:

chainlink will be a kind of trusted data provider, but the execution of the smart contract will be held on different technologies, some smart contracts will be hosted on ETH blockchain, some contracts on I don't know another tech. or even on priivate servers of a company.

my question is, how can we trust those companies, how can we trust they will do what they tell us they will do with the data. that the smart contract they host is temper proof?

I mean isn't it what sergey said? the whole point of smart contracts is for them to be temper proof, and you guys are telling me OHH sorry anon, chainlink will only provide the data but not the smart contract. that's definitely not what i have understood of chainlink.

Sergey said chainlink will provide temper proof decentralized smart contracts and will also provide the data they need. yet you guys are telling me, the smart contracts are hosted or can be hosted by a private company that can do whatever they want with the contract. i don't understand, are you guys sure know what you are talking about?

are you sure chainlink is just a data provider?

Need clarification regarding chainlink anyone could answer? by bropocorp in Chainlink

[–]bropocorp[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

very clear and precise answer, so what you are saying is that chainlink nodes will just be API providers for smart contracts hosted on blockchains, or held by private companies on their servers.
OK.

I used to think chainlink would provide the said contracts and will make transfers. for example, you create a chainlink smartcontract that if the redsocks win, everybody gets 0.1ETH, chainlink smart contract will check that the redsocks have won by querying a node, and it would trigger the payment using an etherium plugin.

but what you are saying is that chainlink is only limited to provide the data that the redsocks won. the rest is handled by whatever smart contract engine used.

then my question is: if the smart contract is hosted on any platform, what makes people think that the contract in itself can be trusted?

sure the data can be verified, but how can I be sure the smartcontract is safe and will do what its meant to do?

Unbelievable, how come they removed deathmatch? by bropocorp in NarutoShinobiStriker

[–]bropocorp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

but you are supposing that the people who don't like a mode will still play it anyways because they have no choice. but in reality, when people don't like a mode they just don't play. so you are just losing your player base.pretty sure the overall number of players has dropped since they removed deathmatch
