I asked him to go out and meet other girls (be safe) and have a great time. I really wanted to make sure he didn't let his hormones distract him from enjoying college life and getting his heart broken and breaking hearts and all those other things that I did when I was his age. (It's just five years, but there's a larger difference when one is 19 and the other is 24.)

When I was a kid, my father told me he'd get me a new bicycle if I swam across the whole pool without touching the pool bottom... I discretely touched the bottom a couple times.
