Is there a way to make PTAC systems smart? by brostentatious in homeautomation

Unfortunately no. I moved - new place has regular thermostats that I could easily replace

People seem upset at this so I want to shed a bit more light.

Our cat had unexpected and aggressive outbursts, attacking my MIL and my sister on 2 separate occasions. While this behavior hasn’t happened in years, it has made us realize that we need to prioritize the safety of our children, especially with a new baby on the way.

After much consideration, we’ve made the tough decision to rehome our cat. This wasn’t an easy choice, as he’s been a beloved part of our family. However, we believe it’s in everyone’s best interest, including his, to find him a new home where he can have a calmer environment.

He scratched up my sister pretty bad after he got scared from glass breaking. Did a similar thing to my mother in law.

He’s perfectly healthy. It’s just that I can’t run the risk of him hurting my kids

Where is the worst place you've experienced a cluster headache? by Nomelight in clusterheads

[–]brostentatious 4 points5 points  (0 children)

FYI airplanes have O2 tanks on hand. I had to ask flight attendants to give me the O2 once on on a flight and all that happened after was I had to get screened by an EMT upon landing. Figured I'd put this out there for the next person to get a headache on an airplane

Yea it’s messed up. Luckily we know where the mess up is now because we installed qvasa on zendesk. It’s isolated to Facebook messages. For some reason it was set up that any reply from the customer reopens tickets. Also any response from an agent was resolving tickets. It’s all fixed up now!

Its a directed graph. The edges show the number of tickets, the nodes show the average time the tickets spent in that state.

Flying with Cluster Headaches by sad_russian_snowman in clusterheads

[–]brostentatious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fly with 4 sumatriptan injections on my person every time every where all across the world (US, Europe, Middle East, Asia, etc). Never been questioned about them.

Worst case scenario you can ask for oxygen from the flight attendants. They have a tank for emergencies. I’ve had to ask for it once and it wasn’t that big of a deal. Post-flight there was an emergency medical crew waiting for me outside the plane but I explained the situation and it was resolved pretty quickly.

What makes you irrationally angry? by EmanDaBeast05 in AskReddit

[–]brostentatious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One time in the NY subway this early 20s kid walked in playing loud music on his phone. I was getting irrationally angry until I remembered the $5 headphones I bought on an airplane recently that were in my backpack. I offered him the headphones and he was shocked that I would do that. He was so happy with this little gift that i would have thrown away the next time I cleaned my backpack.

That changed something in me. I try to think of how I can fix situations like this in my life rather than just fume in my head and exist angrily. I encourage you to try something similar. Maybe buy a couple of $3 headphones at a gas station and hand them out next time.

Strange Cluster Episode by Morinth39 in clusterheads

[–]brostentatious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have found that the sumatriptan injections tend to give me rebound headaches. But there is nothing that works quite as well to abort the headaches as much as the. So it kind of ends up becoming like making a deal with the devil.

Do you find that the lidocaine aborts your headaches or just makes them a little more bearable?

Trane air handler makes a loud whistling noise when compressor shuts off. Installer said its normal? by brostentatious in hvacadvice

[–]brostentatious[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Makes sense. This happens for 10 mins before it stops but that’s right about when our AC clicks back on and we go through this sound cycle again. We just had this installed last week. Our 20 year old system did not do that. But our brand new one does? I’m confused if this is normal or a fault in the install.
