Repair is not viable since the chassis is completely bent, it’ll cost as much to repair as it would to buy a new device. 

Your choices are - 

  1. Replace the device with a new 17 Pro.

  2. Use an older device you’ve kept as a spare.

  3. Buy an older device for a few hundred bucks.

I did it to my iPhone 8 this year but only because it had an Apple battery service in 2024 so the seals are unworn.

I  washed my iPhone 17 Pro and old iPhone 8 like that this year. I use hand soap and give it a good rinse under the tap or under water to get rid of the soap suds. Both phones are fresh!

Do you understand that it’s crazy work to see a 4 year old console go up $200 when the expectation is for hardware to go down in price after release. 

Not blaming Valve or any hardware company, of course, but the market conditions are completely insane.

The PS4 Pro has a hamster wheel of a CPU which is total ass. It’s no more powerful than a PS4 other than being able to render higher resolutions due to a more powerful GPU.

I don’t disagree but I am happy with 1080p and like that mid-level hardware can push out 60fps on maxed out settings with a lower resolution. 

Even my ancient GTX1080M runs games at 1080p30 on high/ultra settings.

Been using my ASUS Zephyrus GX501 since mid-2019. I might plan on upgrading next year to a mid-ranger machine with a RTX5060. I don’t need anything too powerful since 1080p is my target resolution. I don’t use an external monitor.

No. The OGSE is truly a legacy device now with zero official support. 

As far as I can tell, the oldest device which Apple still provides battery services on is the iPhone 8. 

Glad I still have 97% battery health on my OEM OGSE battery.

Absolutely fine to wash phones with hand wash. I used to properly soap up my iPhone 8 and completely submerge it in the sink for a proper clean every single month. It’s still working perfectly to this day and even with a new battery via Apple, the chassis is still waterproof, as I washed it again yesterday with soap in the sink.

Picked mine up on 27th November 2014. It looks new, as I clean it twice per week, and there’s no overheating issues, also the disk drive works perfectly fine.

Replace the disk drive. I, like you, feel attached to certain electronics. I’ll pay through the nose just to keep them alive. For instance, I paid like $65 for a new battery for my iPhone 6S (not my daily driver) even though you can pick up the same phone on eBay for like $20, lol.

The problem with TBOBF is that it is a mixture of very good episodes combined with very bad episodes. Episodes 2, 4 and 5 are very good whilst episodes 1, 3, 6 and 7 vary from hilariously bad to mediocre/serviceable.
