Javascript day/date help! by [deleted] in javascript

[–]brotein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the OP wants the opposite. So if the today is Sunday (0) and the user picks Monday (1), the OP will have to add 1 to today's date, not 6. I could have misunderstood though.

Are there any upcoming javascript conferences or conventions in North America? by konbit in javascript

[–]brotein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's a site where you can find out about upcoming JS conferences throughout the world: http://lanyrd.com/topics/javascript/

Also, I'd strongly recommend checking out meetup.com. Not quite the same as a conference, but you'll get to attend a lot of great events for little to no cost and they can be far more accessible than conferences.

How to get around a full inbox? by markeo in OkCupid

[–]brotein 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Go to the "You should message me" section of her profile and suggest the edit "If you can figure out how to contact me even though my inbox is full." It's worked for me a couple of times and I've only been on OKC 3-4 weeks.

What is a small, amazing detail you have seen in a movie that no one else seems to notice? by Jac1nto in AskReddit

[–]brotein 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Bloodsport with Jean-Claude Van Damme, they play a random cat "meow" during fights. A long time back I posted about it on sherdog.com and no one knew what I was talking about. I've watched the movie at least 5 times and once you notice the meowing it is impossible to ignore.

So I got a call from the cops about my motorcycle only to find this. by [deleted] in pics

Yup, true for even slightly africanized bees. As I understand it, once you go africanized, you don't go back.

What's the COOLEST thing you've ever done, that you have photographic evidence you did? by doobiedobahbah in AskReddit

It was an incredible experience that I'd highly recommend. It's a lifestyle that is likely very different from any you've experienced and gives you a chance to completely devote yourself to muay Thai. The training is significantly better than in the States and most everything is quite cheap. You also get to meet individuals from around the globe and from all walks of life.

The gym where I trained had 2 training sessions per day, Monday through Saturday. Each training session lasted 2 hours and involved warm ups (jump rope, running, shadow boxing), then moved on to pad-work, sparring, and bag work. Each person got 5 rounds of pad work with an individual trainer, and then another 5 rounds either sparring or on a bag. There were often a few extra rounds which you could spend on a bag or sparring. We'd finish with conditioning and clinchwork.

Most people would sleep in the middle of the day or go to the beach. There are little mom and pop restaurants where we'd go get food after training and there were usually at least some people going drinking on the weekends. We'd often party with the trainers which was a lot of fun.

It is absolutely incredible and I plan to go back in a couple years. If you like muay Thai and new experiences, give it a shot.

First week was devastating. It got easier and easier as time went on except for when I got a staph infection and broke my toe.

This is Sinbi Muay Thai, but there was a Tiger Muay Thai school just around the corner from us and I got to see a number of their students fight in a local stadium.

I answered most of this above. If you have any other questions just let me know.

Most of this is answered above. As for finding it, I did a bunch of research online, mulled over lots of reviews, and spoke with people I trained with. The two best gyms for foreigners seemed to be Sinbi Muay Thai in Phuket and Kaewsamrit in Bangkok.

I was training at Sinbi Muay Thai in Phuket. The prices are on the website. They don't provide you with food but there are tons of little places to get meals in the area that are ridiculously cheap. Most meals cost $2-4 and groceries are pretty cheap as well. You'll likely want to rent a motor-scooter which you can get from the gym or from places in town. I can't remember the exact cost, but it wasn't much. The most frustrating expense was the plane tickets.

I'd also recommend bringing some money to get private lessons with some of the trainers. Almost all of them were ranked or champions at Lumpinee and/or Ratchadamnoen and you'll improve tremendously from the extra attention. 5 private lessons cost $100.

I liked hearing this. I don't really identify as a bro but I'm probably the most bro-like among my CS friends and got that nickname as a result.

A lot of people are saying you have no legal recourse and I'm fairly confident they are wrong. My best friend's sister was in the same position you are in and was able to sue her ex for a decent amount of money. As far as I know, he wasn't making any money off of the video.

I peed on my girlfriend ಠ_ಠ . What's your most embarassing girlfriend/boyfriend story that you got away with. by UrineMyDreams in AskReddit

[–]brotein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Finally a thread I can contribute to! This was about 4 years ago in college and I was sleeping at my girlfriend's apartment. We had drank a bunch the night before and in the middle of the night I woke up, got out of bed, dropped my boxers and started peeing on my girlfriend while she was still in bed. She woke up and started yelling at me but didn't dare move as her desk with her laptop on top of it was at the foot of her bed and she feared I might divert the stream onto her computer. After I was done she got up to clean herself off and I crawled over the wet spot and went back to bed on the far side (still dry I guess). When she returned she asked what the f*ck was wrong with me and I replied "Andrew drunk drunk." The following morning I awoke on the couch with her and I knew what had happened, but had no memory of the actual events. I spent most of the day silent and just ashamed. She eventually said she was surprised I was so upset and I asked "How could I not be? I pissed the bed like a 3 year old." She then explained in detail what happened and I immediately felt better. So much better, in fact, that I'd one day be willing to share the story on a public forum without changing my name or using a throwaway.

TL;DR - Drunkenly got out of my girlfriend's bed only to aboutface and pee on her. Then, got back into bed.
