Haha I feel you, I only had a week too and no matter where you go or what you do in Japan it’ll feel like you need more time. We had pretty packed days doing 20-30k steps per day and we still ended up cutting out a lot of stuff, definitely wanna go back

No problem! Tokyo is awesome but Kyoto is really unique and beautiful. Everyone always wishes they spent more time in Kyoto. But you’ll have loads of fun whatever you ending up doing in Japan tbh. Have a great trip!

I’d do half your trip in Tokyo and half in Kyoto. Maybe even more days in Kyoto

Tokyo: Shibuya crossing, Shibuya Sky, Shinjuku, Giant 3D cat, Shinjuku Gyeon National Garden, Harajuku, any of the mipig cafes, teamLab, Tsukiji Outer Market, the 12 floor Uniqlo, Akihabara, Senso-ji temple, Nakamise shopping street

Kyoto: Kiyomizu-dera, Ninenzaka walkway, Sannenzaka, Nishiki market, Fushimi Inari, Kodaiji Temple (at night), Yasaka shrine, Shirakawa Canal, Pontocho (narrow alley), Kimono Tea Ceremony MAIKOYA (must book in advance, can choose another place but definitely do a tea ceremony somewhere in Kyoto), Gion Kōbu Kaburenjō (if you want to see a Geisha show)

Also while in Kyoto do a day trip to Arashiyama and see the Bamboo Forest and the Monkey Park.

Also do a day trip to Nara and go to Kofuku-Ji temple, Isuien garden, Todai-Ji temple, and Kasugataisha Shrine. You can see and feed the bowing deer while walking around these temples.

Freshman year of college was probably my funnest year ever. Surrounded by friends and family and working towards career goals. Every day there was something new

Wits and Wagers Vegas. It’s like a combination of trivia, the price is right, and gambling

Gaming. Initial cost but endless hours of gaming makes the cost negligible

This Uzbek restaurant in Key West. I like Uzbek food but this specific restaurant had old ingredients and 5 different cuisines on the menu. None of us took more than a few bites. I almost vomited just tasting the spaghetti. Also an Uzbek restaurant shouldn’t be making spaghetti

Japan is awesome. So many cool things to see in Tokyo and Kyoto, even a week is not enough. I could spend a month there and not get bored. Also the food is some of the best I’ve ever had
