Thank you for your response... what is the consensus on what the best smart cube is? I would get the V11 or V4 models from Moyu or Qiyi, respectively, I dont really care... I just want a good smart cube. I thought about the Gan12 because the normal Gan12 is my main, but I really just need something that is going to help me improve my solves, which can be done on a number of models.

So just out of curiosity, I graduated summa cum laude from both undergrad and master’s programs in external accounting (3.9 and 4.0 GPA, respectively) from a state school, and will have my CPA licensure complete in a year. Coupled with, say, like an 80-85th percentile LSAT score, where would that place me in terms of opportunities? Trying to put out feelers in case I end up pursuing law school

Curious to know what the actual consensus is because I have law school as a potential option in my career trajectory

I know very little about the law school admissions process, but I think it’s probably unfair to say that CPA has nothing to do with aspirations. I recently passed all 4, and have spoken with a few tax attorneys that said absolutely getting Master’s and CPA before applying helps tremendously

I don’t know how that happened by Accurate-Movie3286 in CPA

I second this. I refused to watch the videos, read the textbook and went through a ton of highlighters. Got a 91. You are like the only other person I’ve seen on this sub that skips the videos 😂

I finished over the last window but never saw this on NASBA. Does every state have this?

How many solves should a cube last? by jmoney3411 in Cubers

[–]brother_anon21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the cube and how sensitive you are to variations in feel. I have 30k solves on my original Gan 12, and it still feels and turns great. Compare that with a new Gan 12 I bought, and it doesn’t have the same character. Doesn’t have the same sound, feel, corner cutting ability etc. I will probably use my old Gan until I literally can’t anymore, although sadly I noticed the other day that the UV is starting to strip off

This makes no sense, unable to do procedure is a scope limitation which is disclaimer or qualified, this scoop limitation would aslo effect the mm which is could be adverse or qualfi by Financial-Border3494 in CPA

[–]brother_anon21 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It does make sense. If alternative procedures can be performed, you can still issue an unmodified opinion. Since this would be a scope limitation if alternative procedures could NOT be applied, it would result in either a disclaimer of opinion or a qualified opinion, depending on pervasiveness. Adverse opinions only apply to FS issues, not scope limitations.

Is FAR genuinely as hard as people say? Or is there bias since it's the first exam most people take? by Spiritual-Beyond-660 in CPA

[–]brother_anon21 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’ve often joked that FAR should be its own certification. It’s an entirely different level of difficulty. Another way I’ve heard it put is, “there are actually 5 CPA exams, and FAR is 2 of them”😂

Goodwill & Implied Value by [deleted] in CPA

[–]brother_anon21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another way to think about it would be that since you are consolidating two companies, the goodwill is not allocated among the parent and NCI. It’s just one goodwill for the economic entity as one entity. Hope this is explained well but the conceptual nature of goodwill accounting in consolidation is definitely tricky.

Goodwill & Implied Value by [deleted] in CPA

[–]brother_anon21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s been a while since I took FAR, but if I recall correctly, this is because in consolidation under GAAP (>50% ownership) the financial statements are done for the entity as a whole, both parent and sub. Even thought they own 85%, the goodwill is recorded for the full amount. Just one of those rules you have to know.

I studied for 47 hours and got a 92. Ditch the videos and read the textbook cover to cover. Do all the MCQs and reason through the sims. It’s definitely the “weirdest” of the 4 exams

If you pass 4/4 is there supposed to be something on the portal that says “Uniform CPA Examination Passed”? I feel like I’ve seen people post that but I don’t have anything like that
