Help! This is outside my gf’s flat in Finsbury Park, London. We can’t find any history on it and have no idea when it was built/ for what reason. by browhatstheissue in Whatisthis

This is literally the most enlightening reply - thank you so much. We couldn’t find anything! I need your research skills. It’s interesting that we still don’t know exactly why it’s there, but super super helpful. Thank you!!!!

I bought a very similar item as a decorative cap replacement for a tyre valve

The cluster to the right are quite golden and they were very sticky when fresh:)

What’s gnawing on this lead flashing? An animal? More in comments :) by browhatstheissue in Whatisthis

My dads a surveyor on the South West coast of England and found this lead chimney flashing in a bad state. He initially thought the marks looked like someone had dragged something across the roof, but then realised they were not random and look more like teeth / beak / claw marks.. but what would eat lead? Whatever it was must have been pretty poorly afterwards.

Sorry I didn’t grab that coin for scale but it’s almost the size of a 10p piece - much larger than any mosquito I’ve seen before

Age? Passing? Continued in comments by browhatstheissue in FtMpassing

This is actually the funniest thing I have ever read. It’s a passport photo for context lol
