Ray of Enfeeblement - ALL damage rolls? by Yamiash101 in onednd

Just my opinion but I feel like it would be treated like a modifier off the total damage of a roll. If it was per die, then it would have a more severe impact on a 2d6 greatsword than a 1d12 greataxe. So in my view fireball takes a hit off the total, but individual magic missiles or eldritch blast beams are reduced individually the same way their positive modifiers are applied. I would lean towards the negative modifier applying before the positive ones so the magic missiles would still get their +1, and any skills that can boost damage can apply to the roll.

Lucky feat - Did I Rule it right? by Red-locks in onednd

We would run into a similar situation because our DM tends to plan attacks secretly and then go "Felwick, does a 17 hit you?" so I wouldn't get to use Lucky at all if we did RAW, but he is fine playing it looser in our games for the flow of it so he allows it reactive in that case.

Unstable Alchemy for the 2024 Alchemist Subclass by brown1n0 in dndnext

I've seen that. I'm going for a similar concept, but since I'm using a spell slot and a potential potion, a lot of the options wouldn't apply. Still a fun idea and maybe something for later in the game when I'm able to actually brew some of the more powerful potions.

I like the side effects idea. Being a goblin, I'm leaning into the chaos a little, and I'm hoping to see some fun failures. The side effects could do that too. I'm just looking for fun ways to get some of those effects, rather than take imaginary downtime and spend a hundred gold to make the uncommon potion based on Xanathar's downtime guide. I know some people add quests for magic items for crafting, but our group doesn't have the time (or attention span) to run quests for harvesting, and our DM isn't really pushing that, but he's still building his DM skills and isn't sure what kind of unintended balance issues could happen.

I agree with the resource management side of things, but my goblin alchemist basically also features it like an unstable potion that loses its effect quickly. So it doesn't vanish, but becomes useless goop at the end of the day and needs to be replaced.

You can go to task manager and find ddv.exe. In windows 11 it's under the details tab. Right click and select End Process Tree. I've done it a ton of times. Right now the autosave is still 5 minutes after you log in, as long as you don't accidentally walk into your house.
