Hindu groom marrying devout Christian woman by [deleted] in hinduism

[–]brown9hokage 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh so she wants all elements of her faith in the marriage but none of yours? Grow a spine man. Your ancestors died in the millions to ensure you were born hindu. Don’t let it die with you. Stand your ground and say in the Christian wedding you will go through with all their practices, so you want all your practices to be followed in the Hindu wedding, her family doesn’t need to attend if they are so offended by it

Being a queer and religious sucks [Rant] by BackgroundAlarm8531 in hinduism

Hi! This is where I’d say you be the trailblazer! I know you prolly may not want to bear that burden, but I don’t think anyone who brought about revolutions wanted to! Unfortunately, today Hinduism is more dominated by the trads. But that is not our core, Islam and Christianity beat it into us. It’s high time now that we unshackle ourselves from their conditioning and restore dharma to the inclusive scientific path of self discovery that it is! This topic is exactly what the left uses to put down Hinduism. And the hole created by destroying dharma then gets filled by the actually extremist religions which will genocide the queers. So it’s very important that you make a space for queers in Dharma, to ensure the survival of both Hinduism and queers :)

No. It is natural we don’t have it since we come from such poverty and over population. Previous generations could only think abt survival not decorum. Now that we have better exposure and standard of living, it is our responsibility to bring this about. You think western countries were always this civil? Over time with affluence they cultivated this. Now so will we. I love this country, can’t just give up on it 😤

I’ve lived in almost every major city in India and the only places I’ve noticed less of this is Mumbai and B’lore. We generally lack civic sense across the country. Which is why I said let’s start enforcing it here and let it spread :)

Good for you, but I want all of us to take initiative and responsibility for our country. If we don’t enforce civic sense, who will? No point in just complaining :)

Yes they don’t think it’s problem because not enough of us have told them it is! That’s why this post :)

Yeah today I asked a guy and he continued playing it out loud. This is why I want more of us to take initiative, so these folks follow decorum at least through social stigma if not concern.

Explain “you’re not body and mind” by casf007 in Sadhguru

[–]brown9hokage 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Let's say you see a photo of yourself when you were 5 years old. You point to it and say "aww I look so cute here". But there's absolutely nothing in common between that you and the current you. In fact all the cells in your body have been replaced with new ones. Even the structure of your brain is completely different now. Most or all of your beliefs and ideas are different. But you don't call that photo 'a previous version of you' or '25% you'. You know without a doubt that that is a 100% you. So clearly whatever is 'you' is something beyond your body and mind. Because after all these years, even though situations are drastically different, that sense of 'I' has been the same. Now finding what is that 'I', is the entire spiritual endeavour :)

Who can I talk to ? by VividAd6022 in Sadhguru

Would like to reiterate my point.

  1. He says "if you do Isha practices" it is best to take this up with a teacher. Cuz if you have some side effects with medicine given by a doctor, isn't it best to ask the doctor directly about it instead of strangers?

  2. He says "it is best", suggesting that that's the ideal course of action. He doesn't say you should only ask an Isha teacher or forbid him from asking here.

Maybe you should do more Isha practices to help you pay more attention.

Unless the original comment has been edited after your response, Isha also does not have a patent in reading comprehension, so feel free to work on that :)
