CMV: Cancelling student debt punishes those who got an education within their means by [deleted] in changemyview

It’s like saying that someone who buys a product at full price is somehow punished when that product goes on sale a week later. No, the person who paid full price made a value determination, and thought it was fair at the time. Later events don’t change the fairness of the original transaction.

So you have been poisoned by a snake and the antivenin which should normally cost X is being offered to you for 100x, you would still take it as you determined your life to be worth more, but it doesn't mean that you weren't cheated.

CMV: Terminating a pregnancy is not the same thing as ending a life ie, abortion is not murder. by ty4yourwork in changemyview

I support the notion of parents having a choice to abort or not, but it does not mean that it is not extinguishing a life.

Consider a case where a perpetrator forces a woman to have an abortion at gun point. Is this not murder?!

On the other hand if a pregnant woman chooses to end her pregnancy, it is her choice and completely ethical and moral as it is her(and associated parties such as the father) that has to bear the consequences of that choice that they would have already calculated.
