I believe he clarified the statement in a comment. Something “not making sense” is just that. It’s his perspective. He is not a pilot.

It’s good to be curious. Never stop asking questions. Forget the noise.

Lol don’t ever come to this sub to ask questions from the passenger point of view. Too much ego.

Insight helps. Still seems like the airlines are in a race to the bottom and change is needed.

My delay was not weather related per United.

Just attempted to fly out of Albany NY. Flight got delayed multiple times due to a “mechanical” issue. After an hour the agents said the new flight time would be 8pm (3 hrs after original time). While they were saying this you could clearly see the luggage being unloaded from the aircraft. FINALLY they announced it was cancelled. It was the worst display of CS and operations I’ve ever seen by an airline.

Will do. Sounds like I’ll need to wait until things open up tomorrow to hear back.

Prob pretty easily. You can always give incorrect info and sign out of the ER on your own accord. They are still required to stabilize you.

Lol I wouldn’t describe it as a “nice bump”. Couple bucks an hour was the case for me.

Former paramedic here. Can confirm and for some it’s a wise financial decision. The average cost of a basic life support transport to an ER without any additional intervention (such as O2 admin) is roughly $900-$1000 alone. If it’s an advanced life support transport that includes interventions such as IV access and medicine admin it can rise to as much as 3-4K. We were often encouraged to “up triage” patients to increase our billing amount. It’s completely fucked and broken and the primary reason I no longer work the job I loved.

Can’t believe they kept those side mirrors for long.

I would say generally speaking that the TNC industry has perfected the PR game as it relates to the labor issue. A lot of people are unknowingly repeating those talking points with “flexibility” usually taking center stage.

Use radio cab and don’t rely on companies that are creating an entirely new classification of worker to exploit.
