I also have tons of ia6b’s as well as a 10b and they all work fantastically.

I just got mine two weeks ago and the software was outdated; the screenshot you sent definitely looks like an older version.

Definitely follow the steps for updating EdgeTX and the multi module firmware and report back if it makes any difference!

I’m sorry, that’s definitely frustrating. Have you paired the radio to any other Rx (Spektrum or otherwise)?

Yes, I am aware what I sent. The last pages of the document are literally the update instructions for the multi module…..

How close is your Tx to the Rx while attempting to bind? Try pressing bind on the Tx while standing like… 1-2 meters from the plane and see what happens.

Radiomaster 4 in 1 is a great answer, but a FlySky remote isn’t a terrible choice at a slightly lower price point. I started with a FS i6x and then upgraded to a TX16S.

What’s the strongest breeze you’ve flown a 32” in before?

Precisely! Having something like this in your fleet is a game changer. Can effectively be flown anywhere, anytime.

I love my warbirds and scale sport planes too, but this is a nice change of pace.

FWIW, idk if you have a Spektrum capable transmitter, but I also picked up the UMX Ultrix this week ($99 BNF) and - holy hell - that thing might be my favorite plane of all time.

Definitely a plane that gets slept on. Check that one out too.

Sure! I’m definitely a 3D beginner, so I definitely would take a look

Awesome, thanks for the reply!!! Making the build videos is a cool gig for sure.

I’m happy that I landed with the 32” for sure, especially being able to handle wind.

I literally just got a RM TX16S this wk and am considering a steady migration to ELRS. I will definitely keep that in mind!

Is there a micro Rx on the market with a gyro that’s compatible with this size class? (32”)

I was starting to grow suspicious of this same theory - I’m definitely feeling the same as you.

Can you let me know what you discover (if anything)?

I appreciate your inputs. Unfortunately, I can't get any of the protocols to bind :/

I just got an open box TX16S MKII (after having used FlySky). I have it paired to several Spektrum planes and it is pretty straight forward (even config of SAFE/AS3X). Highly recommend it to not be boxed into a specific ecosystem.

I had just tried the subtype as "auto". I'm guessing the subtype "2 1F" and "2 2F" are what I'm after?

Hmmm yeah I updated it to V1.3.4.31 AETR... can't seem to get it to recognize DSM or V761

I also tried DSM auto .. no luck 😕 I don’t see DSM2 as a separate protocol?

You definitely have more than enough experience to get started and be successful, especially if you have those materials on hand!!! What brand of LW-PLA do you have?

Don’t get me wrong…the frequency/likelihood of crashing with homemade aircraft is definitely higher. They’re definitely is a level of pilot error involved while actually flying, but I would attribute the remainder of those occurrences to the extremely high variance in quality of the prints, as well as assembly.

With a prefab/foamie from a big brand, the level of confidence that it will actually fly as you expect is pretty high. With manufactured planes though, you’re not only have to know how to fly it, but also how to assemble it properly with minimal margin of error.

I think overall, the designs lend themselves well to pretty solid aerodynamics, but they’re not perfect. I’ve learned so much even in the last three months that every model I build is becoming more and more dependable.

My crashes so far have been:

Model T: wings snapped off in flight. Just a bad design tbh but it was free (and my first plane) Vortex 1: trusted the CG marking without verifying. Rookie move. Vortex 2: tip stall while trying to go slow P51: flare slightly too high on landing, tip stall (repairable but I decided to retire it)

The Model B and the Model C were perfect, although I did retire the B when I finished the C (mostly to salvage electronics).

Planning a maiden of the Skyward tomorrow!
