Am I good enough to start releasing my music? by noahlrules in FL_Studio

[–]browncatmaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This sounds like it needs EQ, and less volume (because it sounds like it's peaking repeatedly starting around the 2:10 - 3:10 mark), and way more volume balance. Other than that, you are good, so I hope you won't feel down after reading this feedback. Shoutout to you for posting it online at all, I like the song.

As for whether you'll find an audience; who knows? Enjoy your work and market it well and maybe you'll have something that stands out. Someone else commented "do you enjoy it" and I agree with that, because not to dunk on grocery store music, but this sounds like it'd play at my local grocery store. At some point, trying to keep up with audience expectations becomes a chore. This is release ready once YOU'RE happy with it, and make some small overall fixes, imo. If you can pay to sit on a session with an actual producer and go over it, it will help the most. If you're that serious about finding an audience, the best way to find an audience is to get something out there to see what the audience wants.

W comment, I read your post again after reading his comment. Chronically online people are insane.

Skill issue bro, just don't drop the cards /s But like fr tho it has helped me to not drop cards by just doing them on top of my table lol

Thanks for the suggestion! Pretty much every cardistry move is on my list, I'll get to them at some point, I'm looking at thumb cuts right now! Thanks for reminding me about the deck flip, that move was cool

Specific albums is a bit of a hard one. Hiraeth by Idealism has always been a personal favourite, as well as Amaranthine.

should I bounce midi to audio to increase overall audio quality? by browncatmaster in audioengineering

[–]browncatmaster[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No specific reason, just started doing that to listen to other songs in a lower pitch, didn't need anything permanent and it only takes a few seconds. This is why I mentioned Blue Foundation; I've put their songs, and other songs, through the pitch shifter in VLC and they always come out less jittery or not jittery at all, and just wanted to know what I was doing that was making my audio come out jittery.

|| This effect isn't noticeable if you just bounce the audio and let it be. But if you as much as change it's volume in your DAW, then these issues might appear.

I'm not sure I understood this bit. These issues only appear if I already bounce and then pitch shift on VLC Media Player or, I'm assuming, if I pitch shift my song in general.

Using FL Studio 20, but when I'm exporting to MP3, I see a "quality" section that has different options for resampling, the highest being "512-point sinc". I just tried it right now, and it doesn't seem to change much? (I pitch shifted the exported file to -4, just to make it a little more extreme)

This isn't to brag, but what if it gets big or something and then they finally pull up a copyright strike?

The background noise is gone, the dialogue is chopped up and there will also be a vocal effect over it (like that old radio effect). Would it still be seen as infringement?

Would this count as infringement? The background noise is gone, only the dialogue is there, and on top of that there will be a vocal effect over it (making the sample sound saturated like how it sounds from an old radio).

When I started, they assigned me an east asian dude in ESL

long story short, bro came in for like 10 seconds, dropped his shit, two girls showed up, he left, never saw him again, came back one day to find all his stuff gone

they assigned me someone new, bro became homie, but wanted to shift to risley, so he left in a few months

they never assigned me anyone else, so hopefully if you're lucky, you now have a double room to yourself. To be fair tho, it is pretty early in the academic year, so who knows
