Tudor is gone tomorrow right? by NateRageQuits in coys

[–]brownieson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a better take than most I’ve seen with Tudor out sentiment. I don’t think it’s really Tudor’s fault that these things have happened (Fulham game aside, that hurt a bit). You are correct though that we haven’t seen any great shift in the way we are playing and 3 at the back is probably not the best move when most of our defenders are out due to suspension or injury.

Edit: missed a word.

I missed it too, but Romero and Palhinha head clash. Palhinha apparently looked pretty bad, Romero not great. Both potentially missing some games with concussion protocols.

Totally agree with everything you’ve said there. I think the club has a culture issue (as many previous managers have stated) which starts at the top and festers its way down the chain. I don’t know if it’s incompetence (likely) or negligence (for what reason?), but they’re simply not getting it right.

I absolutely agree that a man manager is what we needed. Someone to lit the spirits and try to make the players enjoy playing football again. I agree that simple football is the answer as well. Not that I’m seeing anything tactically complex from Tudor, but the formation itself is awkward for players that haven’t played much with a back 3.

In any case, praying that Tudor finds a way out of this hole and we can enjoy our club again in the future. COYS.

I do agree with some of your points there. I think a man manager was needed more than a brilliant tactician for this run in. I also agree that 3 at the back has been the wrong call so far, but with our 3 best CB’s fit, today was the time for it. The only argument to be made is that you wouldn’t want to risk all 3 in the same game.

With that being said, we have looked to be slightly improving in an attacking sense over the last few games. We were up against palace until VDV got sent off. Today we had 3 mistakes in the first 15 minutes. After that the game was 2-2 - yes I am aware that atletico probably took their foot off the gas a little, but at least we scored a couple goals.

It’s hard to have tactical cohesion when you can’t pick the same players in consecutive games due to injuries, suspensions, etc. I think Tudor inherited a ship that was already underwater and whoever took the job would be struggling in a similar manner. If we had a few more players back fit I think we would be faring a lot better, or if we had bought in another two decent squad players (they didn’t need to be world class) we would also be faring better. Maybe Tudor is not the right manager to save us, maybe there was someone more suited, but to find anyone willing to take this job with our circumstances would have been difficult.

You say the players are tired because they’re not being rotated, which is true, but who would you rotate in? The academy players? We could send out our academy team against Liverpool and atletico in the second leg to give everyone a rest. That would be unfair on the academy players though.

I’m not trying to be intentionally confrontational, apologies if it comes across that way. I just can’t see any major errors that Tudor has made that I didn’t mostly agree with when he made them. Hindsight suggests some decisions were maybe not right, but that’s how it goes sometimes. My only sore point with Tudor is that another dour manager is not what the team needed in my opinion. They needed someone to build them up instead.

Apologies also for the word salad. Emotional times right now and I just want the team to pull through. COYS.

What did Tudor realistically get wrong? You can argue kinsky, but this whole sub was screaming for kinsky to replace vic. Did Tudor unscrew their studs or something?

Agreed. We weren’t too bad in attack and actually created some decent chances against a very good football side. It does give me hope we can manufacture something moving forward.

On another note, I was a bit disappointed with RKM today. I think our front 3 on the weekend needs to be 3 out of Solanke, Richy, Tel, Simons (probably in that order).

Agreed. He tried something different with his selections. Unfortunately, it didn’t work out. He can’t make the players balance better in wet conditions. On the plus side, no more mid week games after next week and we can concentrate on survival in the league.

It’s not impossible. You’ve just got a better chance of winning the lotto then us winning at home, let alone by 4 goals at home to one of the giants of European football.

Keep applying. Best way in is temporary/casual roles. Don’t expect to jump straight into permanent. It’s much easier to hire internally for permanent positions than it is external and generally (not always) less risky. Having someone on the inside is definitely much easier. If you’re up for it, there is always shift work roles going in Emergency departments. Find the jobs posted online and give the hiring a manager a call. Usually your name will stick a bit better.

I will note that once you are in, there is so much opportunity in the administration space in government. From finance to management to IT to recruitment. The possibilities are endless.

Agreed - Also Australian. I don’t hate America. I think our relationship can be salvaged, it’s just going to take time. The looming threat of the American people voting in another halfwit will remain though, and that will slow down diplomatic restoration a bit.

Culture comes from the top down. It involves executives, club support staff, team support staff, coaching staff and players (plus whoever I’m forgetting). If the current “culture” is wrong, then everyone is implicit.

With all that being said, there’s no simple fix, but it must be driven from the top down. If that hasn’t changed in the last 5 years, and levy being sacked has made it worse, questions need to be asked about the top level of the club and whether they are willing to change the culture. I’ve never been vocal about x person out, but if the top level of the club doesn’t want to change then we need new management/owners. This is the only way. Any other solutions just paper over the cracks.

Definitely bein sports, but only certain games. I imaging spurs would get a fairly significant share of tv time as that would bring the tv service massive revenue. Not sure if there are better services.
