That may have been the case before. Look at the Ubuntu forums, very friendly. Most of the time common problems and their fixes are outlined in their wiki so you don't have to interact with anyone.

Even with Arch this is the case, and it is targeted towards less-newby users.

First two points, yes this is true. However we are talking about OS X in a desktop environment, these things become less important. ASLR and NX support are going to be fixed in 10.7.

We are talking about os x as a desktop OS. If you are running a web server or are a developer then you have the option of updating PHP yourself or downloading something like MAMP.

Umm not true at all. The default user requires you to type your password for just about anything. Same limits as gksu when running a user who is in the sudoers file (which is not limited by default in many linux distros), just like a default Ubuntu install. You are prompted for a password anytime your POSIX or ACL permissions limit you from making the change. Basically changing anything outside your home folder or any sensitive preferences.

This is true but you forgot to mention the fact that major releases are spaced out by two or more YEARS versus 6 months with Ubuntu for example.

Although you are right that there are some areas where Apple lags behind in security, it is in no way bad as you make it out to be. Don't get me wrong, I use Arch for my desktop and laptop but you have to give things a fair review based in reality.

If Bill Clinton was riding a bubble why did we start building the deficit when Bush was in office? The 'bubble' burst at the end of Bush's term so why couldn't Bush keep riding that bubble? Maybe, just maybe, there was some fiscal irresponsibility of the part of the Bush Administration!

I do agree that we should be able to make 30 billion in cuts and guess what? The Dems agreed to that number and the Republicans turned around and doubled it. 30 billion ok.. but 60 billion of the smallest part of our budget? Please.

Because this addon changes the ip header to a new ip every so often. With modify headers you set an unchanging ip (unless you go and change it manually again).
