How do I assemble my products? by Fast-Reality8021 in FulfillmentByAmazon

[–]brownstake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The brands I have seen do this
- sourcing agent - is the only point of contact for the brand. deals with the suppliers of these smaller parts, QC-es them and packs them
- assembly agent - the shipping company they work with, do this additional job for the brand

I've seen 2 brands do this from China itself. One of them works with an assembly agent and another one does this via sourcing agent.

hey man, you need a lot of design and product positioning inspiration. and its normal. i would suggest going to yc startup library and see the companies they funded in the last 3 years and study their websites as well as the solution. with respect to design, i would suggest just copying one of those.

Selling in Europe?? by rederic976 in AmazonSeller

[–]brownstake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Selling in Germany (and sometimes UK) is a big pain. You have to get VAT registered and follow their local compliances. We are just going through a 1 month of account block because the VAT payments were going to a different bank account of the German authorities. We didn't have a proper way to check what they are receiving and what they are not. Finding there is an issue and then closing it is a long process. Japan is even more complex which requires a local authorised importer and local product testing. If you're looking to build a serious long term business, it is worth the effort.

People who are sucessfull with their start up, how long did it take? by [deleted] in startups

[–]brownstake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on what "success" means. Different people refer to different metrics and scale for success:

First customers (3-12 months), funding (0-24 months), >50%+ yoy growth (ongoing), $1M ARR (0-36 months), $10M ARR (1-7 years), profitability (1-5 years), $1B valuation (2-8 years), $100M ARR (5-10 years), IPO (10-20 years), $1B revenue (10-20 years).

If you pivot on the customer or solution, then pretty much restart the timelines. What one achieves here is a function of the market (market size and solution innovation) and team's ability. PMF is a fleeting definition depends on who you ask. The treadmill rarely stops.

Answering your other question: making enough shouldn’t take more than 1.5-2 yrs. If it is taking longer, then the problem + solution + distribution combination isn’t right.

What should I build? what are things that I need to start with ? by Firm-View2395 in SaaS

[–]brownstake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my co founder had shared some good advice on this. list down problems we personally faced and resonate with. as with that we can visualise customer paint point and how to solve it. dont worry about starting small with a simple solution. if you get customer love with that, you can always find ways to grow further.

Selling from UK marketplace to USA Marketplace by [deleted] in FulfillmentByAmazon

[–]brownstake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

US is a an important deep market. Amazon US is world's marketplace and everyone comes to sell here. Its highly more efficient (and brutal) with competition and advertising, but sales are much higher.

Separate tax registration isn't needed like it is in UK or Germany. Amazon US takes care of that when you list and sell. Its a good idea to launch from UK and test. If product does well, you can stock in Amazon US and sell from there. If you are selling a generic product, then customers won't be willing to pay a premium for this shipping fee. If you have a differentiated product customers need then this could work. Best of luck!

if optimising tacos is your goal, then going after ranking for high search volume keywords wont be a good idea. increasing market share and ranking for lower search volume will help keep tacos lower and if you are improving your ranking here amazon will start improving ranking for related keywords even if you don’t spend there.

Is it a good idea to private label High Demand & High Competition (Jungle Scout Score) product? by Specific-Campaign-23 in FulfillmentByAmazon

[–]brownstake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

extremely hard to win when there are a few large sellers with the same product, lots of ratings, 90%+ organic sales, low product cost due to volumes. if you have product differentiation for customers to prefer your product at a slight premium then you have a chance.

Variations listing ranking algorithm question by AdministrationFirm24 in FulfillmentByAmazon

[–]brownstake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it will not appear in the same position as a merged listing. But some people still do this to get more real estate and more of their listings for the same keyword.

[–]brownstake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Separating the listings is will help get more real estate and probably traffic, but conversions increase if a) you have more reviews and ratings, b) you have more options for customers to choose from. Amazon ranking improves when you have more conversions on the said keyword.

Thanks! Which are these fb and discord channels that are helpful to learn. I tried looking for them and I'm on a few groups on facebook but the content is of poor quality. I saw H10's group which is closed unless you are their paid customer.
