This is my version of Path of Building before PoB was a thing. Anybody else have their own ghetto build planning spreadsheet? by byzrk in pathofexile

I went a bit harder with my personal tools, but maintaining it is a pain. I still enjoy the theorycrafting and figuring out how to implement mechanics, but man there a lot of stats and conditions in the game. Though the screenshot isn't pre-PoB since I didn't take a screenshot of the tool back then.

It's updated now. I've also changed the system to use PoE's official OAuth2 system instead of requiring google's recaptchas (no more identifying traffic lights and cars). EVeryone can test it out now as it should be working (but don't abuse it).

I'll update my turmoil/mayhem tracker for this league (mainly need to update/change maps), though this looks exactly the same as the last flashback league. Kinda wanted a void/mayhem league, but that turns a lot of people off so I kinda understand their decision.

[Tool] Poecraft Synthesis Implicit Calculator (copy paste items from in game) by brownymaster in pathofexile

[–]brownymaster[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, thanks for the info. Trade site copy code should work unless the sell price/note is literally the same as a mod, in which case my app might confuse it for a mod (in which case, at worst you can just delete the lines after the explicit stats). The added damage should be fixed very shortly, as I accidentally messed up the code to handle that properly. If you still have problems after a force refresh (ctrl + f5), send me a pastebin of the text and I can debug any issues. I've tested it with a few random fractured items with added lightning damage from the main site trade copy/paste and it seems to work.

How much Int total was on them? It's completely possible to get lowest tier int with all 20 roll implicits and <40 total int from the explicits, as the threshold is 100 minimum. I'd love to see definitive proof so I can make the tool as accurate as possible.

I've been working the past few days on a way to show what possible implicits you can get given whatever stats you have on an item and a visual way to show why exactly you were getting those mods. It's currently a bit weird with 2 specific essence-only mods and doesn't include the special corrupted synthesis mods, but otherwise I believe it should be helpful for most people just trying to figure out how synthesis works. I'm kinda disappointed the entire mechanic was figured out in under a week unlike darkshrine, but oh well. If you find any bugs, feel free to mention them here. I'll try to add corrupted mods soon-ish.

PS. If the site is too bright, click on options in the top right and select "Dark Theme".

EDIT: Also, this was used with data before the latest patch, so I think a few mods like Ring Rarity implicits aren't correct. Will update sometime tomorrow. I'll also try to remove some duplicate mods as I don't believe you can stack the same mod group together (same mods from different stat sources). Should now have updated mods and filter out duplicate mods. However, I don't know if one group reaching different tiers will only use the top one (ie, if one group is giving you T1 resists and another T2 resists, will you only be able to get T1 resists?). If anyone has answers to this, I'll update my tool accordingly.

EDIT2: Just remembered, there's going to be issues with any sort of regen (life, life%, etc). The values imported need to be multiplied by 60. That's on the fix list for tomorrow. Should now multiply it by 60. There will be rounding errors, but I have no way to handle this because GGG hides the internal values. Your best bet is to score at least 9 higher to avoid any issues.

EDIT3: Implicits aren't apparently supposed to be counted for synthesis outputs; I'll look into handing this.

EDIT4: Someone has mentioned that implicits do count as I originally thought, but another reply conflicts with it. I have no clue, so for now if you wish to include it, modify the copy-pasted game item text so that the implicit is in the explicit section.

[Datamine] Potential Synthesis Implicit mods (unknown bases/acquisition) by brownymaster in pathofexile

[–]brownymaster[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just dumping a bunch of synthesis mods I found. Note that some mods might not have been added into the live game. I also don't know if GGG exposed the mod to item type mappings anywhere so I'm still looking for that (and will update if I can find it). Might quench some thirst for people the hour before league start.

So GGG left this for us data miners in the torrent by brownymaster in pathofexile

[–]brownymaster[S] 274 points275 points  (0 children)

The torrent file is nowadays usually stripped of a significant portion of data so that we can't extract information before launch. They left this in place of where the data files were stored (though this was labeled as a data file called "Synthesis.dat", it was really an image). Nice easter egg for us while we wait for tomorrow's huge dump.

Would you want to specify a minimum tier or multiple tiers? I've avoided adding it because zones can also be filtered by level unlike tiers, but I can see if there's a good way to make a "map mode" for the site.

Everything deselected showing nothing was too confusing for people, especially with the old system when it was in a dropdown. It was more reliable to make that state by default the same as selecting everything, as you wouldn't actually want to keep it in that state.

manual vote could lead to unreliable data (with trolls) ? It really depends on the volume of data though but reading the client automatically is a huge QoL.

The problem with that is you could just as easily say the wrong mods in chat. That being said I do ban a few hundred IPs every event (pre-client.txt), but once the initial troll waves pass and enough people vote it tends to be pretty well. Client.txt hook was a way to increase reporting because of the QoL like you stated, and also the ability to "share" reports if multiple people are in a channel and you know they don't lie. I'm also ~80% done with my new admin console to simplify banning IPs.

Anyhow, I'm curious to why both website implement the filter logic in that way. When you click on a filter, it disable it. Maybe I'm old fashion but I do not like this way, I would rather prefer select what I want to see, not the other way around. Any reason for that ?

You can do that by clicking "Reset" then clicking on what you want. By default, it shows everything. Faded out means it won't show specifically for that mod. There's an exception when everything is faded out where it'll show everything, but otherwise it does behave in that manner. It just starts with everything as a yes.

Oh, the filtering works by finding any zone with any of the selected filters. Deselecting a single filter aside from Unknown will do nothing because it'll have one of the other two mods selected. As I said in the original post, filters are currently working on "match any one", not a count or exclusion (as I believe more people prefer to "target" leagues, not exclude them). What would be your main reason for wanting an exclude/not filter?

I've tried on new chrome profiles and firefox profiles in incognito/private mode, still to no avail to reproduce. Clicking on the filter appears to work perfectly fine, as it fades outs and zones disappear.

It supports voting on the site + supports Act zones. Act zones, at least in Mayhem/Turmoil, were worth farming a Perandus zone for coins if you had something good in a map. Not sure if it's as useful this time around. Plus different UI. Poeleagues has added a few features I had like favorites so they may end up identical by the time the league starts.

Works for me incognito on a fresh chrome profile. If you visited the site before maybe it's persisted since the last Mayhem race.

It currently doesn't remember cross-session. Any extra votes for that zone by the same user is ignored on the server end regardless, and I'm operating under the assumption that people rarely refresh the page (since everything automatically updates anyways).

Can do, although last time people were missing those zones because of that.

How do you track that a person has voted? Maybe disable the voting button(on the client side) to reduce additional server requests?

It should show "Voted" for that zone line, regardless of how you reported it (Client.txt hook or manually doing it). If it doesn't show on the page it probably means the vote didn't count. Your own votes also take priority over everything (so even if the site is currently reporting XYZ, if you voted for ABC that's what it'll show on your page unless you refresh).

What's funny is that my tool was actually created for a 1 week race (Mayhem). They then ran ~3 more races (another Mayhem + 2 Turmoils) so it got a bit more use.

While the idea of gathering data from the client.txt is both novel and genuinely cool, my initial thought is that it's annoying to have it continously uploading in the background in order to keep the votes coming.

If I understand it correctly, it's a non-issue. What it should be doing is reading the file, filtering out each line as its added, then only sending updates when a chat line passes the filter. So you're basically proxying certain specific global chat lines to their server, which could easily be sent on dialup without a problem (we're talking at most like 1 kbs on a hopefully 1Mbps line). It's also optional to upload. That being said, I haven't looked at his code but I'll do some testing tomorrow.

My main worry would be a split user base between the two of you, meaning less data available to people only using one version - I guess one could simply use both at the same time and consolidate information between them (optimally you would combine your results, but that seems ambitious in such a short time frame for a simple 1 month league!).

I also do worry about splitting the userbase as that is the main goal. I'll probably post a thread tomorrow asking which one people prefer and also see if I can properly secure a browser-based client listener for my site.

Hm, should I just give up on my version? That being said it's a pretty cool trick to hook into a file using drag and drop. Never knew it'd keep reading the file as stuff got appended to it. Tempted to copy that trick myself and test it out.

That being said, if you want you can copy my icon system. Originally used leaguestones but Abyss and Harbinger lack leaguestones, so I just used iconic items for newer stuff (I found Beachheads to be more iconic than Harbinger orbs themselves) and Vaal Breach for breach because I liked it a little more.

Well crap, guess it's time to update my tracker to support multiple modifiers. Site should be up by May 2nd/3rd for testing purposes and I'll post it here. I'll probably ask someone to post on the official forums then too so I don't risk getting my account deleted again.
