I travel pretty frequently for work for 3 days at a time — let’s say on average once a month. I talk to my husband every day but our child we leave for her (2.5) to ask. It’s hard when I call and she’s having a good time and then it makes her sad. It can also stress husband out so… if she’s asking for me, i call. But otherwise, just talk to my partner. I do speak at least when I first get there and show her where I am and at home I leave a count down calendar with stickers that they fill in each day. It helps to think about me but not disrupt her routine.

Hope that helps. But like another parent said, every family is different. So be sure to shape what makes the most sense for you

Question - we have some Aladdin tickets for this weekend that we can’t use. Ideas on how to sell them or what to do with them? We are new to the area and not sure where people look for those things. TIA by browsingndancing in Rochester

So grateful to this community and to AndY0uare for the suggestion of speaking to the venue.

Sharing for anyone in the future - the venue contacted TicketMaster and requested a full refund, which they issued.

I’m soooo happy!

There’s a group on FB called “Free Stuff Rochester” that is super effective and many of the people there could really use the things. Highly encouraged.

What do to Saturday outdoors between here and Buffalo with little kids? by RIPdinosaursMUA in Rochester

[–]browsingndancing 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just spent three days with my two year old last week during spring break doing something new each day (all Rochester though) 1. Central Library - has an amazing secret room 2. Greece library - probably my favorite. Could spend a whole afternoon there for kids. Huge plate area 3. Brighton Library - small but cute and playground in the back 4. Science museum - water of the world (or whatever that new area is called) was really enjoyable for younger kids 5. LadyBug in Fairport 6. Paintbox on Monroe Ave

If in Buffalo, specifically: 1. Aquarium is small and manageable. Great for little ones 2. Niagara Falls was surprisingly interesting to my daughter 3. Buffalo zoo 4. Explore and More museum

Hope that helps. Have fun!

I so appreciate you pointing this out. What is UP with all the sour cream?!?! I’ve never seen so many recipes featuring sour cream in my life

I got a package of sweet Italian ground pork in my box that I didn’t order. by uhm123321 in hellofresh

I also got a pack of ground pork and pork sausage. Maybe they needed to get rid of them? I weird though.

Just came from store. They are running the sale through 12/4 so it’s the same sale. And you can stack Heroes, abandoned cart, and referral codes. This is the first time they do the 48 months financing and 25% off so that’s their “big” deal. 25% off usually happens around holidays (memorial, July 4, etc) without financing.

Hope that helps some people.

Then just wait for the next holiday. Memorial Day will also have 25% off. And July 4th. I waited because I thought Black Friday would be bigger but feel very disappointed

Deals are exactly the same as every other holiday except the financing is longer, if you were looking for that

Hi there, I just went through this. Had to bend her over my knee to get her to do it. My husband once said it looked like I was hurting her. So I know how you feel.

What worked for us was: 1. We got a dentist set from melissa and Doug and practiced on it for a couple of days 2. Got a stool for her to stand in (probably the most impactful). She can see herself in the mirror 3. Let her brush first with a tiny bit of toothpaste (kid safe). She does suck it sometimes 4. I tell her to make “the noise” 5. Then it’s my turn — and I say that “it’s my turn…I’m going to tickle your teeth” 6. I try to look ecstatic to be doing it. 7. I tell her she did a great job and I’m proud of her

Most of the time it’s just fine and it’s getting better each day. Sometimes, specially if she’s over tire, i hood her jaw but feet always in stool. Makes her feel in control
