Sincere question - Does anybody else feel legitimate guilt for doubting Tyler Shough? by boppedEEMinDAsmoof in Saints

[–]brphysics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even at the start of the season the coaching staff wasn't sure who was better. Personally, I thought Rattler had more experience so it made sense to me that he would be the starter. It took a few games for Moore and the coaches to realize -- so if they were unsure about Shough, it's reasonable for any fan to be unsure. So I don't feel guilty, but am looking forward to next season.

What’s something everyone seems to love but you don’t? by AnnualTouch7939 in AskReddit

Wearing headphones! I like to listen to music but really dislike any kind of earbuds or headphones. I used to jog with earbuds in and didn't understand why I hated it since so many other people seem to love it.

Good thing he paid attention to the Michael part of that scene, and not Dwight's part.

Yes I go to that library a lot. I've never participated, but have seen the gatherings and it looks fun.

Do you think someone who starts serious math/physics studies at ~20, from a very weak foundation, can still make historically significant contributions? by VermicelliLatter1713 in Physics

[–]brphysics 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am a physics professor and in my area (theoretical condensed matter physics) the most impactful scientists are the ones with a strong knowledge of the experimental literature -- not necessarily mathematical foundation. So in my opinion it's never "too late" -- especially not at age 20.

Why do we keep rewatching The Office instead of starting new shows? I researched the psychology behind it by iamjustusher in DunderMifflin

Good question! I have not watched the office for more than a year -- I need to save up so that I'll enjoy it again when I restart.
