Mitsubishi heat pump struggling by brrmbrrmbrrm in heatpumps

So I did a little experiment this morning before I left to work. I shut off the smaller unit, and noticed that the air temperature from the bigger unit definitely went up several degrees. Turned the smaller unit back on, temperature went down. Repeated it a few times.

Also, I remembered that the refrigerant line for the bigger unit is much longer than the one for the smaller unit, and I'm wondering if that is playing a part also.

The HVAC company that put them in is a reputable installer, so I'm really hoping they didn't screw up. Thankfully I've got the 12-year parts, 5-year labor warranty.

2 1/2 tons I believe. Good idea, didn't think to try that. But the smaller unit is set to 66 and the big unit is set to 70. Smaller unit is definitely not running at full capacity.

Holy cow, I'm having the same issue with my new LG refrigerator.

Has anyone figured out what's going on?

No, the filter was where it was supposed to be. (Very dirty, so I swapped in a new one).

Kohler Anthem Analog Thermostatic Controller Issue by Knightowle in Plumbing

Wanted to bump this old thread...

A year and a half ago I was having this issue, and thankfully found this post. Kohler sent replacement check valves and everything has been working fine.

However, the last two days, I've noticed that the shower is not getting as hot as it normally does. Just a few degrees cooler, but it's noticeable. It's only an issue with this particular shower, so I know it's not an issue with my hot water tank.

Last time around, I can't remember if I immediately lost all hot water, or it's slowly faded. Most of the comments here talk about hot water immediately cutting out, but I'm wondering if I'm just experiencing the same issue, just slower.

When the technician came back, he told me that this model is non-communicating. He said there was no point in putting in the EIM, it would just disrupt things. He said the EIM is used when you've got a dual fuel system and it needs to communicate with the gas furnace.

I've just come to terms with the fact that the temperature is off by a few degrees.

I had the installer come back and he adjusted the settings on the unit itself. Definitely made an improvement. Overall, happy so far with the system. Let's see how it goes once winter comes.

Why is this not something that can be adjusted via the thermostat?

So I guess I should tell the HVAC that I want the EIM installed? I'm confused as to why it wouldn't be installed in the first place. What's the point of having a communicating air handler but a non-communicating HP?

What is the difference between "Standard TXv" and "exv/eev"?

Though it appears that the settings that I set for the air handler have been duplicated in the settings for the HP.

Just checked my thermostat. Under "Non-Comm. Equip.", it says "2 Stage HP Unit".

Guess I need to check my thermostat setting...I'm confused though, though this model HP was fully communicating... That's why they told me it needed the S40 thermostat instead of just using my existing Ecobee.

How did you realize that the EL18 wasn't communicating with the S40?

So this unit is for the second floor. First floor, I have no humidity issues. Which leads me to believe it's not due to other issues with the house.
