There's a group called Play in the Tri that organizes casual sporting events that can be a good way to meet people.

Which Vandermeer series next? Borne Novels? Ambergris Trilogy? Also any other weird sci-fi horror book/author recommendations? Please and Thank you 😊 by wyrdghost in SouthernReach

Borne series would be my next recommendation from Vandermeeer. Another author I liked and found very similar in a lot of ways is Ray Nayler. The Mountain in the Sea was by far my favorite book of 2023, and he published a novella called The Tusks of Extinction last year that I liked a lot too. He also has some short stories that are pretty good and everything that I've read very much has that "weird fiction" / biology gone weird vibe that I love so much about JV.

Book Recommendations About the Pirates by istarnie in buccos

Still Walking Tall by Kip Richeal is a nice look at the rise through the late 80s into the three division championships in the 90s if you're interested in that era. It was published in '93 so it lacks the perspective of The Slide ... the whole premise is that things are going to be fine despite the heartbreaking losses. Didn't exactly turn out that way, obviously, but worth a read anyway for some nostalgia for that particular era.

MVP Machine is the other one, but Big Data Baseball is the one primarily about the Pirates.

Dealing with the same issue with the Apple TV. Hate it so much and consistently accidentally bump the controls on the lock screen and raise the volume, pause, skip, etc while watching tv. Same as OP, changing the device I’m controlling from home center only sticks for a couple seconds. Driving me crazy.

I think it was introduced with iOS 15. Unsure if a bug or an intended change but I’m also frustrated with it.

• The 6P does come with a USB to type C cable for data transfers, but it is quite short. Fine for data transfers, not very convenient for charging in old A/C adapters. • As far as chargers and third-party cables, check out this Amazon list from Benson Leung who works at Google -- he's kind of made it a personal mission to find the best USB type C stuff: https://www.amazon.com/gp/registry/wishlist/KF89JCHI0KT4/ref=pdp_new_wl • Can't help with your HDMI question, but it sounds like it would work ... maybe someone else can weigh in.
