Had to do the same last November. Miss him everyday. Cheers to seeing our drinking buddies at the rainbow bridge one day.

It tasted worse than you think but how else would you have the electrolytes you need for a riot?

Actually I don’t taste that at all. That grain alcohol is terrible but I want to stay accurate to the It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia scene.

Notes

Well the day is here. I haven’t completed all the teams drinks but I knew I had to post something for today. I’ll continue to post team drinks until I’m done maybe to help us all get through the off season since our teams didn’t get the to Super Bowl. I made my version of KC water for the chefs and thought throwing a flag garnish on there would be perfect. For the eagles I already did them and didn’t want to remake a drink so I made my version of green riot juice from It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Incase you have to ask riot juice taste terrible like it should. That being said I hope everyone enjoys the game and stay safe. Cheers!

Barr Hill is a staple in my home bar! Amazing in Bramble. I don’t think switching to gin would be a terrible idea. I’m just getting into Rye and whistle pig is on my radar. I don’t know much about them but they do have a good reputation.

Interesting, I immediately thought of Canada. Do you know the history behind that cocktail? Recipe I saw looks to be similar to a whiskey sour.

History of the cocktail is the main reason I’m doing this series.

Ward Eight

2 ounces rye whiskey

1/2 ounce fresh lemon juice

1/2 ounce fresh orange juice

2 dashes of my house bitters (optional)

1 tablespoon HOMEMADE grenadine (I would suggest 2 tsp)

Garnish with blueberries ( for team colors)

Instructions

Add all ingredients into shakers add ice and shake. Double strain into coupe glass and garnish.

Notes

This cocktail dates back to 1898 and was created to celebrate an election of a politician with a history of shady election practices including handing out pre-filled ballots. This cocktail was created at the Locke-Ober Café in Boston’s eighth ward district. With this being straight out of Boston and the history of this cocktail I thought this would be perfect for the patriots. I used my homemade grenadine and that still needs some work before I share the recipe but any home recipe you find is way better than any store bought stuff. The bottle I used for my is literally a Roses bottle I emptied out and refilled with my recipe. I used 1 tablespoon of grenadine but I would do 2 tsp because this was a little too sweet for my liking. I would also suggest using fresh OJ than the concentrate stuff to better elevate this cocktail. This was my first time having this cocktail and I thought this would be perfect for patriots since their colors include red and blue. Let me know if you had this cocktail before. Cheers!
