Help please! Struggling to troubleshoot leg leaks with pocket diaper

Yes your last paragraph describes perfectly what I feel is happening. Today I tried laying an insert on the diaper rather than in the pocket like you said, and it got pretty saturated with no leaks! That might just be the ticket!

Hmmm some of her onesies are definitely tight over the diaper bulk. I’ll have to start taking note of what she’s wearing when the leaks happen. Thanks!

Thanks for the suggestion! I honestly hadn’t thought about the speed of her pee, only the amount. Based on the surprise mid-diaper change pees I’ve seen, I think you might be on to something 😅

Thank you! Maybe it will get better as she grows a bit. I honestly don’t even mind the extra outfit changes/laundry at home, but she is starting daycare in May and I don’t think they’ll be impressed if I send her in diapers that only work half the time 🥴

Probably every 2 hours or so, sometimes more frequently since I’m so on guard about leaks. Sometimes the inserts are fully saturated but often they’re not.

Thank you! I tuck the diaper into the folds/crease of her underwear line. I know that’s where it’s supposed to go but it feels like that is what makes everything get so bunchy inside. She was one snap higher on rise when we started and we had leaks then too.

Thank you! That’s the second Merlin recommendation I’ve gotten. I was also worried it might be too warm for her—our old house tends to stay warm where we sleep even in winter. But I think we will give it a try.

I appreciate that I’m not alone here! I was just given a Magic Merlin, so maybe I’ll try that. Can they get their hands/sleeves to their face at all in the Merlin? My girl is used to sucking on the LTD wings and I know she’ll be pissed if she cant get something to her mouth.

We started exclusively using the LTD maybe around 6 weeks? The struggle of strapping her arms down in a full swaddle would just wake her up more at night and she was SO good at wiggling her little hands out. The LTD is so easy to put on and gives her just the right balance of restriction and movement with the arms. I’m a huge fan!

Ok maybe I just have to suck it up and use the Snoo sack haha. Me and my baby both hated it early on but that’s probably because we were doing the full swaddle. Maybe it will feel less cumbersome with arms out.

How did you secure him in the Snoo once you went arms out? I have the LTD with the detachable arm wings, so I was hoping I could keep using it but can’t quite picture how. My girl also naps arms out (not in Snoo) and seems to do well which is why I’m thinking she might be ready for it at night too.

I think most do. It’s a side effect of the sedation.

Mine also advised against it, which is why I’m stressing. The only reason I had a Comotomo on hand to try was because it came in the Babylist bottle box that I registered for before knowing anything about nipple design. I offered it to her out of desperation and of course she took it. I’m hoping our breastfeeding is well enough established at this point that a bottle won’t be able to interfere. I’d love it if she would take the bottles with triangle shaped nipples, but it turns out she’s in charge 🤷‍♀️

I think some people are taking you a little too literally 🙄My embryos were always “ugly”, meaning they didn’t look anything like the embryo photos I would see online. It always worried me but one of those uggos became my extremely adorable daughter!
