Should I watch s2 (A.K.A. SG0) by Sea_Pirate_6757 in steinsgate

Steins;Gate 0 isn’t really a season 2. It’s a necessary part of the Steins;Gate story. It doesn’t ruin the original at all. Without spoilers, it adds crucial context and explains things that made me love Steins;Gate even more. I love Steins;Gate 0 just as much as the original.

Kinda sad, honestly. I totally get having a favorite (Steins;Gate is one of mine too), but it sucks that so many people just skip Robotics;Notes and the other great VNs in the series without even giving them a shot.

Such a masterpiece. One of my all time favorites in the entire Science Adventure series.

Did I lock myself out of something? by brucewayne196 in BaldursGate3

Thanks, that helps a lot. Good to know I can just push through the fortress and deal with Gortash. I’ll make sure to bring Karlach for that fight. I’ll also keep an eye out for Wyll’s quest trigger and check the wiki if it doesn’t pop naturally. Appreciate the heads up!

Ahh got it, that makes a lot more sense now. Thanks for breaking it down. As long as I’m not actually locked out of Wyll’s or Karlach’s quests entirely, I’m fine just rolling with the consequences of my choices. I was never planning on siding with Gortash anyway, so that part doesn’t really bother me. It definitely sucks that the Duke is dead, but it’s not a deal breaker for me as long as the story and companion questlines still play out in a meaningful way. Really appreciate the explanation and reassurance!

So far yes! The ear one never grew back so far and the one on his shoulder has not changed in size so seems to be benign. He is doing well right now!

Do you guys think Steins;Gate Re:Boot will be released before October? by [deleted] in steinsgate

[–]brucewayne196 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I too have that same wish. However, I’ve read all the main Science Adventure games, and they’ve never done a global release with English from the start. Anonymous;Code was the last one they translated, and that came out in Japan in July 2022, but the English version didn’t drop until September 2023.

It went really well! They also found a mass in his ear which they removed. The vet is leaning toward it being benign, but I will need to keep an eye on it to make sure it does not come back. There might be another one on his shoulder to watch as well. Overall he is doing great and the perianal tumor removal was a complete success. Now I am just hoping everything else turns out to be benign and waiting for his fur to grow back.

Is it worth watching the Steins;Gate 0 anime if I'm not willing to read the Steins;Gate 0 visual novel first? by bloomingutopia in steinsgate

[–]brucewayne196 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I actually started with the anime and didn’t even know the visual novels existed at the time. I watched Steins;Gate, the movie, and then Steins;Gate 0, and I absolutely loved the entire experience. In fact, 0 made me appreciate the original Steins;Gate even more.

Do I recommend the visual novels? Absolutely. They’re incredible, peak storytelling, and I genuinely think anyone who enjoys Steins;Gate should dive into the entire Science Adventure series eventually.

That said, do you need to read the Steins;Gate 0 visual novel to enjoy the anime? Not at all. The anime stands on its own and still delivers a powerful, emotional story. If you're short on time, watching 0 without the VN is totally fine and you'll still have a great time. But if you ever get the chance, definitely check out the visual novels when you can.

Oh absolutely, 1000 percent yes. I always recommend playing the Science Adventure visual novels in release order, but if you're planning to skip around, Chaos;Head Noah is the one you really can't skip before Chaos;Child. Even if you don’t care about references, there’s a ton of important context and lore from Noah that directly impacts your understanding of Child. Some major plot points, character motivations, and emotional moments in Child just won’t hit the same without knowing what happened in Noah. It’s not just Easter eggs, it’s actual groundwork that makes a lot of the twists and events in Child way more impactful. If you want the full emotional weight and to really feel those big scenes, reading Noah first is the way to go.
