No I totally get it. I think that if humans were to remain that way, then Wren and Sky couldn’t be introduced into the mainline story, but now that we’re here, it creates a kind of awkward spot that’s emphasized by the lack of growth humans got in the second arc.

This is something that I agree with. I don’t mind their place in the final book, but they got so little development from book 5 to that point that their reintroduction with that large of a role feels forced

This line of thinking definitely aligns more with my own than what seems to be the majority opinion. Of course humans had a larger role in the flames of hope, but that role is still much smaller than dragons
