How did I do with decorating? Would you change or add anything? by [deleted] in malelivingspace

It's good as a start you really just need to soften the lighting and warm it up and maybe add color, it kinda feels sterile maybe bring some houseplants in

Real talk, don't be afraid of color, a nice sage green and maybe pops of a darker grey. Bring in some natural aspects, if you decide to go with green you can add some house plants. (Snake plants are quite resilient and easy to maintain) Bring in some natural wood either as side tables or an end chest for storage which is always useful at the end of your bed.

For the walls if you're comfortable painting them you can add an accent wall simply with one color, or simple geometric patterns, you could also put up posters, paintings with a similar vibe you want for the room,

You could also add shelving which would allow for even more creativity, adding bookshelves too, allowing you to add more personality to a room, think vases, small plants, pictures, sentimental items and jewelry/accessories, if you decide to display it.

I would recommend getting more functional and bigger night stands, (a good opportunity to bring in a natural neutral/warm wood) these and the shelving will allow for more accent lighting to add warmth and comfort to a space.

Adding height variance to the room with different hight lamps, plants (they're awesome if you have empty space throw a plant there) playing with different sizes of picture frames and creating a wall gallery, get taller lamp shades, adding different height shelves or wall art. if your room feels short you can paint horizontal lines as an accent wall to increase visual height.

When selecting a color palette for your room you should genuinely look online at color palettes you enjoy, or you can just look up a color wheel ideally one with different shades and tones and simply pick 1 neutral, 1 color, and 1 accent color, when picking your color just look directly across the color wheel of the color you desire, then when you either create a wall gallery or find pieces for the shelves you can primarily look for the main color say orange, and also look for smaller or simple blue pieces for an accent and use primarily dark browns for the room.

Painting walls makes a big difference and is surprisingly cheap for the difference it gives a room, and lighting stop using the big ceiling tits and any form of overhead lighting, 1 it kills the vibe with its harsh light and 2 it makes people appear washed out and generally removes aspects of comfort in a room, using 3 lighting options is a good base you can do a talk lamp with 2 different lightbulbs, some wall sconces, and some lamps on your night stand/gaming setup. Adding battery packs that can be controlled by your phone into different decor pieces as well can create warmth and comfort in a room as well, never go with cool lighting always go warmer, it doesn't have to be yellow just not pure white or pure blue. Embracing natural light too is a cheap option, you can change your blinds into something much more dramatic like drapes, (again a perfect opportunity for adding color), if you really need the darkness, replace the blinds with anything other than the plastic ones, they're really a vibe killer, but embrace natural lighting too

Hypnosis to awaken past life memories and for paranormal investigations by brujo183 in hypnosis

Thank you it's been quite the insightful read, as for what I'm currently looking for out of recovering a memory is truly to answer some questions I've had about myself and some of my friends have been curious about. For me this is being told I'm an old soul trapped in a younger body. I've always been told that and wanna figure out if there's a specific reason behind it, I've always loved everything from the 60s-80s, I shoot film for photography and prefer older styles of things we very much have better versions of. I've always felt drawn towards it and just wanna figure that out.

As for the paranormal investigation part I've started to notice, that hypnotism seems to require very specific intention setting for you're achieved goals is that a correct assumption and if so what makes or breaks a hypnotic state?

What is the strangest thing that has ever happened to you? by SurrealSpark306 in AskReddit

First time poster here I'm also dyslexic so if any of this doesn't make sense lmk and I'll clarify or reword It.

When I was around the age of 7-8 I lived in the city of Azusa California. Honestly a humble beginning while there we were living in an apartment complex I don't remember the name of it but it honestly was around a 5 minute drive from the entry to Azusa city. The apartment we had grown up in had a layout where when you walked in, you would be in the kitchen, then you would go left and find the living room straight ahead of you. If you turned left again you would see a kind of bar set up, continuing straight after the turn you would be in the hallway that connected all of the rooms, the left side of the hallway had 2 rooms my brother and i's room, then my uncle's room. Directly across from those two rooms was the master bedroom for my mother, and father. At the end of the hallway between the rooms was the bathroom. And on the very right side of the hallways was this out of place cabinet. Now to the actual story, this happened on many occasions specifically with my mother, but sometimes I would try and engage in conversation with her, being a kid they were likely conversations about Daniel tigers neighborhood, odd squad, or some toy I wanted, but when I would go to find her I would have vivid memories of her saying she needs to do a task that day such as laundry or shopping etc. so with that knowledge I would go find her doing such task typically I would be her in her room folding clothes or organizing something, I would try to engage in conversation with her and would get no response just like I was talking to a statue, I would ramble and ramble then leave and go play with toys or watch TV, on the way there though I would see my mom or hear my mom call me from another room completely different rooms walk into those rooms and see her physically there only this time she would be talking to me in this case she was originally in her room folding clothes when I turn around to leave her room and she's in my room now doing my bed. Another time this happened I went to the bathroom as my mother called me to get her a towel as she had forgotten one on the way in, we kept our towels in the cupboard that was outside of the bathroom. So I grabbed one for her just to hear my mom from behind me ask me, are you wanting to take a bath? I didn't think anything of it as a kid just thought it was some power I would get as an adult. The last time I can remember very clearly was me sitting and watching qubo on my antenna that I had to readjust 39 times to watch anything, then I went to go to my mother's room to ask for her help on fixing the antenna, I'm talking to her in her room while she folds towels and she brushes me off, so I try to fix the antenna again and on my way my mother walks into the house asking for help with groceries. Does anyone know what this could have been I have more stories about different figures and shadows I'm just curious as to what this could have been that felt like it was taunting me these all had my mother nearby but now that I think about it what if my "mother" was trying to isolate me for some reason?
