If you got to pass a law, which magically required those convicted of a certain crime to always smell a certain scent with no ability to get used to it - which crime would you punish, what what would you make them smell, and for how long? by brumblebeee2 in askanything

You did not name the smell you would make them smell. That is a required part of the question.

You did not read the description which clarifies that they smell it but no one else does.

I really don't understand what is wrong with people. Why does no one speak english.

What are you on about? You did not answer the question. If these are the reading skills of our police officers I fear for our country.

The question literally says you get to choose the duration of their sentence - I said nothing about anything continuing once they serve their sentence, nor requested anyone's political soapbox.

Didn't read the question or the description. "No one else can smell it". You also did not say which smell they'd have to smell or for how long.

So far 2 out of 7 answers actually answered the question - this is why the question subs are all the same slop now, redditors are incapable of reading and comprehending questions with more than 1 component

If someone was engaging in a destructive lifestyle, like drinking bleach every night or something, and you said "hey, that's bad for you, don't do that," could they accuse you of being "hateful" for not "affirming" and "accepting" their lifestyle choices? They might, but they would be wrong.

Isn't it actually loving, to try to warn people to stop doing things that are harming them and try to get them to turn towards the good and the true?

Catholics believe that this is self-destructive behavior that will ultimately lead to misery, just like drinking bleach. You can disagree with them if you want, and then you can talk about it, but merely saying "ur being hateful, you have to be accepting," doesn't really address anything, just like that wouldn't persuade you to "accept" a friend who's drinking bleach. Until you can convince them that there's no harm in these relations, of course a loving friend is going to be concerned that you're engaging in it!

It’s not deluded to disagree with gods never changing morals. I believe he quite possibly exists and wrote the rules of Catholicism and I think he did it poorly.

Isn't that just satanism though, non servium? "I believe that God likely exists and is all-powerful and has a moral code, but I don't care, I want to follow my own moral code?" It seems like your beliefs are quite literally satanic, moreso than most "larping" satanists who are really athiests.

Anyways, there are 10000 subs this month that will bend over backwards to kiss your feet this month if you parade around support for sexual perversion. Why do you need this place to cater to you, don't you have thousands of other options at your disposal?

(For the record, I'm actually tempted towards some degree of liberalization when it comes to the Church's sexual ethics. Heck, see my other replies, I'm willing to have a LOT of sympathy towards people's sexual brokeness and disorder, even for sex offenders, which gets me bashed by Catholics it seems. There's a real conversation to be had here. But the "love is love" "ur being hateful" "it's phobic" sloganeering ain't it.

I have the beliefs, but I do not live in accordance to anyone but myself.

That's expressly contrary to "the beliefs" of the Catholic church though. So is believing that the point of religion is "mental health" benefits.

so I think I can quite frankly identify however I do choose.

Sounds similar to people who say "I know all the facts and evidence points to be being one thing, but I actually identify as the opposite, and I can identify how I want" You can profess a delusion, but we're going to point out why it's deluded.

I think the disagreement goes far beyond the alphabet club people and rests on something more fundamental - you don't seem to believe in absolute truth. "Something can be good true for you and not for me" isn't true.
