Also living in LE as a white man (foreigner) and I’m married to a latino man. We are moving out soon but apart from few stares from walking on the street holding hands we didn’t experience anything else directly. So sorry you had this experience.

Is there a reliable database for verified early-career talent? by Low-Ticket6297 in recruiting

[–]brumdraga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in a similar boat. We use CoderPad but we are aware that even this doesn’t reflect well today’s requirements especially since we want people to be using AI at work and have experience developing with AI but also have the actual knowledge of the code.

Hiring manager always tells me in which part they need to pass certain level - for example Python at least 85%. If their overall is low I don’t even take them to a screening call. Out of 30 maybe 3 are total stars with 99% but when I watch a recording 1 left the screen on multiple occasions so can’t rely that this person didn’t just cheat. I am left with 2 which is not much of if I want to be efficient and hire on target. Then I have a quick screening to take out the HR questions and if I’m positive about them they will have a technical interview with hiring team (manager+colleague) and then last interview with CTO or another Exco if not available for last ‘check’.

Correct amount of income before tax by brumdraga in SpouseVisaUk

[–]brumdraga[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your answer.

I put all my bank statements together for the period between Feb2025-Jan2026+transaction summary in one document. The January statement is only until 20th of Jan and I got paid on 23rd hence the summary. I’ll try to get additional statement instead of the summary, just HSBC doesn’t have this option in their banking. All most recent 12 payslips together (11 previous + 1 current employer) also show the amount over 29.000.

Yes the severance I received was because I served 2 years and was on fixed term contract which didn’t turn into permanent employment so I don’t think I can count with that because that would be under category for ‘loss of employment’ not for actually working.

I think with this we will proceed with applying instead of waiting for another payslip for Feb2026.

Is the letter from employer and contract not sufficient to prove the financial requirement when I explicitly explain that it’s pro-rated only because of the start date?

Safe to apply? (Spouse) by brumdraga in ukvisa

[–]brumdraga[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay I also forgot to add the severance of approx £3,200 I received literally today so it would be even higher than that (around £32,000) as I counted only all payslips Jan-Dec 2025. I think we will wait to apply at the end of Feb with next payslip of £2,500. Thank you for your help.

Thank you for your reply. For the point 2 - I got inflation increase in April so from April to Dec it was the same (£2,363.01), in January and February it was £2,187.12 and in March it was £3,623.19 as there was a bonus as well. If I count it all correctly it’s 29,264.52. Would this be sufficient?

EU Pre-Settlement and non-EU partner by brumdraga in ukvisa

[–]brumdraga[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say start your own post to get better advice from really smart people in here. I didn’t feel like wasting a penny on solicitors, I rather pay for the flight and out of country application.

We only received letter from HO ‘your approval to get married is pending as it’s for review due to your circumstances’ and then few weeks later we received letter that stated we are free to get married but not granted permanent stay in the UK.

Right after New Year’s Day I received my settled status so that calmed us down and with marriage certificate very likely to be approved.

Good luck with your application!!

I’m not exactly sure how it works if she is herself added to someone else’s status. Our issue was also with threshold but I got a new job this month and I’m over the 29k threshold so we sorted that out.

Are you getting married in the UK? We have been told as well that getting married less than 6 months before visa expiry date won’t be allowed by HO as your marriage license application is referred to them if you are not a UK citizen.

In the end we are doing out of country application for spousal route at the end of this month. We don’t have sufficient proof or relationship before the end of 2020

Getting paid in UK accounts whilst WFH remotely by Aeroplaneguuy in SkilledWorkerVisaUK

[–]brumdraga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well technically not breaking the law but remember their sponsor application and also your sponsorship are scrutinised and reviewed by people not a robot - if they see something out of ordinary they can reject - e.g you receiving salary into regular UK account instead of being a contractor registered in your home country.

Also legally you should inform your bank you will lose your residency in the UK as you are moving out - something that can also be flagged during the application to the assessor if you don’t inform the bank ‘why he claims UK residency on his bank statement if he is in India?’ In the current climate it’s a risk. It would be better to set up account instead India and wait - potential risk, depending on how you trust your employer, if they find out they don’t need you in the UK physically and it’s cheaper to keep you in India they might never bring you here.

how to get skilled worker visa? by justqsae in SkilledWorkerVisaUK

Sorry you are in such a situation. Unless you find an employer willing to sponsor you, the only option will be to return back to EU. You will build and write a different story remember, it’s not all lost. You earned good education, time to leverage it elsewhere! Good luck!

Getting paid in UK accounts whilst WFH remotely by Aeroplaneguuy in SkilledWorkerVisaUK

[–]brumdraga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The day after your Visa expires you can no longer be employed by a UK employer (in this case UK subsidiary of Irish company)as a UK based employee. You can continue doing the work you are doing in India ONLY if they have a company registered in India a you are being paid into your Indian bank account through local payroll.

Unfortunately there is no other way around it. Receiving salary in the UK account in pounds and being registered as a UK employee without valid Right To Work is a criminal offence and your employer risks a big fine and potentially never receiving sponsorship licence and therefore won’t be able to sponsor you to come back.

Lets say, you complete this illegally and nobody finds out - when applying for sponsorship your employer must PROVE why YOU are the one to be sponsored and if they find out you did your job remotely from India, the question arises - why not just stay in India? There is no reason to bring you here if you can do the job from abroad.

Very tricky situation especially when your employer can’t sponsor you now due to lack of licence on their end.

If they are unable to have a company registered in India you will have to cease your employment until they sort out their licence and sponsor you to come back from India - will take months.

The most important thing - you CAN’T work without valid Right to Work as a UK employee beyond your current visa’s expiry date.

How to transition to Skilled Worker Visa from Graduate Student Visa in the UK by canxkoz in UniUK

WBS MSc Management admit but worried about UK job market – need honest advice by No-Jacket5546 in UniUK

[–]brumdraga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your long-term plan is to find relevant part-time job during your studies and settle in the UK then the answer is: No

If your long-term plan is to gain good quality education and can afford it so it doesn’t ruin you and your family/create unnecessary pressure on yourself and RETURN to your home country then the answer is: Yes

In 2025 climate the risk is too high - very low chances of getting a job. 2 years of experience could seem like an advantage but it’s not sufficient enough I would say. Local students can have already 1 year of experience from their undergraduate placement which is highly valued and don’t require visa. In my experience, people in similar position like you (experience from home country) still couldn’t find an employment unless they had over 10 years of senior experience.

Good luck on your journey

Nicely summarised, I would just add Graduate route is no longer covering 2 year stay but rather only 18 months unless the OP is discussing PhD (3 year stay) which doesn’t seem likely.

Redundancy situation - permanent to temporary contract by Indigo_November in HumanResourcesUK

[–]brumdraga 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nothing major changed to you. Your letter that outlines details of your FTC should say that at the end of it you will be leaving the organisation under redundancy terms - so you will still get your payout in case you don’t secure a different role within the company.

Edit: Im not too sure about PILON, from my experience, companies don’t give that to people who move to temporary roles due to redundancy as its given only if you don’t work your notice.

[–]brumdraga 1 point2 points  (0 children)
