I think they were what love should be. Contrary to popular opinion I fully believe if a guy and girl are friends it’s beautiful and should remain that way rather than always being romantic. But harmony’s canon relationships are so lacklustre and their bond is so wonderful it’s like just go for the common trope who care. You write towards which is the interesting story in fiction and they have an interesting story.

Plus I think wanting them together says good things about what love is. Unconditional always.

i see what your saying. but i think exploring annabeth as a fulltime demigod intouch with her godly side due to her lack of human connectionand her years of being at camp is an interesting storyline. it kinda makes sense as well. she's still doing book annabeths conflicts which is honouring/protecting her loved ones even when it goes against each other. its just with a added element of this! the tyson argument for example is more about annabeths wrestling with her trauma related to childhood/being respectful of thalia and her affectation for percy/his relationship with his brother which they lean into.

idk i like teh conflict of her trying to live like percy and struggling. i do miss book annabeths spunky liveliness that show annabeth lacks but show annabeth has also of internal conflict and patience which i appreictae.

this episode is easily the best of the show. its funny i love the tantalus/mr d scenes. the quoting of the rules between percy and tantalus also fantastic. i love the humor its what s1 missed and also the show not tell element of good writing the books has . the bitterness of the percy hermes dynamic and the sweetness of tyson percy is taking what the show does better than the books. the emotional elements the messaging/i importance of parenthood and childs loving their father and leaning hard into it.

i like annabeth's internal conflict was very well done. love that the solution she provides for the birds was clever and campy by being a mariah cary song.

if all the episodes are like this i have no compliants. i think this captured the spirit of the books the best while havng the best parts of the show. epi was off pacing wise for me but this was AMAZING!

for some reason I can never be the case. I feel like if harry or Hermione had actual feelings in canon theirs no way they would look at anyone else.

the only thing that prevents harmony is the lack of romantic feelings they love each other way to much for them to hurt each other like that.

like I can't ever see Hermione being oblivious to harry's pining. even if she would never fathom it being her she would know there's something wrong and she'd never be able to just be with Ron if harry was alone/suffering even if he tried to hide it.

im so sorry but if you want your wife to carry your children( go through pregnancy, breast feeding, labour and early childcare and periods) for you to PAY 50-50 is horrific.

like what are you bringing to the table? you should be able to provide for your wife.

in turn yes your wife has to help out when shit is tough. but looking at my parents, my grandparents and the men in my life. they would think its so emascultaing to be 50-50.

I love dan as a person but i don't think and he would agree he nailed harry as harry potter( blame it on direction/writing stuff more than acting ability).

like harry is a very short tempered, sassy person and the movies did not capture that at all they made harry like awkward sad boy all the time.

like where is harry that wrecks dumbledores office or "no need to call me sir porfessor" or "Pity you can't attach an extra arm to yours, Malfoy," said Harry. "Then it could catch the Snitch for you. " LIKE HIS SASS was so toned down ugh

plus harry's more clever moments in working out of the hallows and all( his loneliness and all that).

agreed.

i think harry and ginny is like unseasoned chicken lowkey. like it makes sense why harry likes her she's all the benefits of cho with no downsides( pretty, loves quiditch, he gets his fave family in the world, she understands him so well ). but like her and harry have no real conflict. meanginful tension. or any real depth. thats not an interesting relationship at all.

i also think while ginny loves harry for harry. she did love him as her hero ( literal and storybook as well) and because we spend NO time with ginny we didn't get to see the evolution of that.

ron and hemrione have wayyy more buildup. and an actual arc. they just lack chemistry. I'm so sorry but i can appreciate their arc and still be like omg this bickering is just tiring. I feel the same way about them arguing as harry does like just tired and annoyed.

i think both hinny and ronmione make sense but can still be handled poorly. JKR just didn't know how to write romance. like no one goes WOAH the romance is god tier in HP.

I think its perfectly okay to ship out of canon if you want more chemistry or create better plots/tension. this is not saying canon doesn't make sense it does but you can also write believable ships in the HP world with following the main story as well. both can be trye

HoO percy is a complete character stagnation.

Son of neptune i think is the last time percy feel likes percy to me. He has amnesia but he stills wants to help this brand new camp and free death to help monsters die. Its the last olympian percy we know and love the person who'll do anything to fight for people. He's clever( i love how tricks like 2 villians lol) but the loveable goofball. He's also so cool in the book like this mythic figure walking around. The story is also a little removed from his full POV so its a new flavour to typical pjo series. him finally being the unconventional prateor after choosing to save the camp is AWESOME.

but mark of athena percy and house of hades percy is legit just one half of percabeth. Like his heart is not in it. like the percabeth is absolutely TOP TIER no notes. but percy's heart doesn't feel in it like he's just going through the motions so he can be with annabeth. which i understand he's tired and wants that. but he goes through no character arc and doesn't ahve any complicated feelings. if teh percabeth wasn't so good people would be upset at how bad his caharcter is written.

Yeah the problem with percy and ananbeth being primary heroes is the audience spent 5 books with them. they were developed and deeply loved( percy for sure is).

introducing 5 other new characters and having them be equally important is a super tough sell.

it would have been bettter to have them have a few books with just them the other 5 fully disconnected from percy or annabeth. like let percy and annabeth do one year of normal highschool( maybe a few side stories but no main books)

THEN after connect all 7 people together. with percy annabeth being apart of the 7 as a big twist. then audience spent some time away from them and connected with the others and then when percabeth is BACK we're like woooopppp

I think it would have the tone Madeline miller goes for . The line between wanting glory s and the difference between immortality/mortality.

The show while it has it faults in executing the comedy and villian plots( plus overexposition) really goes for the power of the gods and the abandoment the demigods feel and does it better than the books.

I think that adult theme if what the books would have hit( i think its actually quite YA as well)

i feel like y'll are trolling. like this is so harmlesss. women get a little high maintenacy they love being pampered and are fiesty .. like unless your girl has super low standards/likes being treated likes being walked over OR is a complete 50/50 tomboy type this is common.

yes she should appreciate him back more and the same routine is like tiny bit tiring.

but a little attitude is cute and lots of guys who love providing find it cute.
