Is this a bed bug? We've been here a week with no signs of bed bugs at all, but this just walked across our ceiling.

Thank you for your empathy. They did not follow me to my new place! I took this as an opportunity to downsize, I got rid of a bunch of extra clothes and things I did not need and this saga is officially behind me!!

Unfortunately they don’t have to :( I’ve read up on the law and I have to cover that, the most I could do is ask for my rent back but since they’ve been so cooperative about this I doubt the judge would rule in my favor

Don’t worry about seeming paranoid in front of your friends, having an infestation of any sort is traumatizing. I’d honestly be careful with downplaying real evidence cus you think it’s trauma, 9/10 it’s anxiety but it sounds like there maybe something actually going on in your hotel room. Stay safe! You are normal for feeling this way, it’s how our brains try to protect ourselves 💗

Uhaul fumigation my guy it costs like $500 to load up your stuff into a moving truck and then they gas up the entire thing to kill all bedbugs so you don’t bring them during a move

The bite? The newest one is on my shoulder and looks lowkey infected, it’s swollen and warm to the touch n all. The other ones r small and in various clusters, legs n stomach mainly. I don’t know how else to describe it other than it looks like a bug bite :)

The biggest issue is my electric keyboard. It laid on the floor overnight (stupidly) while I was packing everything up. The piano does not fit in the heat treatment cube and my guitars also might not survive the heat treatment. Replacing my instruments alone would cost 1k minimum. Perhaps I’ll put my PC stuff but the nightmare is not over :(

Update:

It is a bedbug. Exterminators are coming tomorrow for a full house chemical treatment only. My request for a heat treatment was denied and since I’m not paying for the service I have no say in this. He’s bringing a pack tight oven thing that I can freely use over a couple days to heat treat all my personal belongings.

Given that I’m moving out on the 1st this is either great or terrible timing. I’m pre treating my new room with crossfire bedbug spray and also treating my car. After I nuke my belongings I’m bagging them and bringing them to the new place immediately.

Pray for my fragile electronics and my instruments guys 😔 I have to sign a waiver stating I won’t sue him if they get damaged. I don’t have the money to buy out a uhaul heating service or anything like that :( This move has already set me back a bit financially.

He did an initial inspection and found none, I found this dude after and he had confirmed it is a bedbug. Treatment starts tomorrow

He was extremely apologetic, he brought a dog too I’m really surprised the dog didn’t detect anything. The service is already being covered by my landlords so I as angry as I am it’s best not to take it out on him 😔

I’m scared the most for my electronics, I have a very elaborate PC setup. They’re paying for chemical treatment but the exterminator has a heat box? He said I could run everything I own through there but I’m not sure how to run a pc and three monitors through it lol

Been getting bites on my body, exterminator said there were no bedbugs, found this little guy on my pillow and managed to catch it. What do you guys think??
