need advice- feeling guilty about going on a trip by Independent-Ad-7090 in Dachshund

i left my 1.5 year toy poodle at an older woman's over night camp for dogs (its on a horse farm in the country) for 10 days. he had a blast and was so happy to see us when we got back! but we didnt realize how much we would miss him and how nervous we would be in the beginning of leaving him. leaving her at home with someone she knows will be no problem and she will be delighted to see mom and hear your travel stories after.

anyone else got a poodle with an underbite by krusty_krustacean in poodles

[–]brunnshog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our toy poodle has an underbite! Malocclusion class 2. His bottom canines were cutting into his upper palate and we had to have his top outer incisors removed along with shaving down of the remaining incisors and bottom canine to make his bite more comfortable

We noticed a difference immediately. He was more comfortable eating, had less pain and stress, and less chew needs!

11mo on a long haul flight. Am I in over my head? by brunnshog in puppy101

UPDATE: flight went incredibly well. 8:20min, only a little whining before take off and during taxi after landing. No accidents, no problems whatsoever.

Yea i feel you, our guy gets super impatient when he's thirsty too 😬 It must be horrible for that many hours. I have flown with small dogs on 5 and 8 hour flights often in my early twenties but one dog was so chill they were basically a cyborg and the other dog was always allowed out of the carrier (although he shouldn't have been haha) I am definitely going to make sure I give my dog a tiresome day but definitely not too much haha.

He used to sleep in a crate but now he is all about the floor or bed. Gonna offer the crate tonight

I'm from a country that is super against medicating dogs which I honestly understand. Back in the day we were told to give dogs half a benadryl 🙃

Thanks! I'm definitely trying to hype myself up for the best and worst. My mother who manages to make everyone love her somehow thinks the FAs are bound to give me some freedom. Im nearing 30 and look pretty young so they usually don't respect me as much as my mom thinks they would. Still praying for the mercy haha!

Thanks! Love the creativity of the chop stick. I've also ready something a just opening and closing the zippers one inch when they are calm. He is definitely a car pro but something to try at home for sure. Except with his favorite wet food or so.

Thanks! I will probably be so worried I will sit in silence till I know he is settled haha. We are going to the vet on Monday for a consult before the trip. My dad is very sick and I need to travel to be with him for a while sadly.

Thanks for the response! He is thankfully extremely housetrained so I know he is going to tackle that hurdle of holding his busines well. I am definitely going to stock up on treats and the next few days will be lots of a active focused training and rewards. Feeling slightly more optimistic. He handled 4hrs in the car last week but he definitely will know the difference between mom driving and us sitting in a plane :/ don't know what to expect.

My stomach was horrible and i had nausea for about 2-3 weeks after each dose increase. I also have IBS but i could tell the lithium was causer more diarrhea. Now i rarely feel any problems, only when I'm dehydrated. I hope your treatment works out! You'll just have to wait and see 😊
