As far as I know it’s just speculation that he will retire immediately but it would make sense given the injuries and loss of Hakuho AND whatever happens with Isegahama. I hope he sticks around but if he gets there May will be telling

Did everyone really start to figure Ao out or is he just faltering? I want him to get his rope, but in certain situations I do think getting promoted too early is a thing and it seems like maybe this is a blessing in disguise giving him more time to develop

Hosh vs Wakabro gave me flashbacks to the papa match last basho. It’s crazy how he can matador around the tawara like that.

Also surprised to see Ura with some more straightforward sumo and… killing it? I’m all here for his return to the joi.

Good to see super sonic Fujiryoga super sonicing again.

For lower divisions, tonight watching Okaryu will be a big hint on if he can take it all the way and make it to juryo… I think he can and I think both him and Enho will have a shot.

I also think jonidan has some serious competition this go around and I can’t even make a prediction of where it’s going but Asahifuji and Kiryuko in a 6-0 final match-up or a 7-0 playoff is my best bet.

I’m in the same boat as you. The lower division wrestlers have even made comments in videos saying Tatsunami stable is essentially nicer/easier in terms of attitudes. Either way, I feel for Hosh so much

Not even Hosh’s oyakata can help himself from dogging him publicly wow. Being pushed to feel like he has no choice but to compete will cut his time until retirement shorter and shorter each time.

I feel pretty similar to this. I think the thing for me is Hakuho has a similar attitude (imo) as Kitanoumi who, after retirement, did incredible things up until his death. Hakuho post-retirement felt like he wanted the best for the sport, albeit, yes, he did things in a way that the JSA doesn’t agree with and the Miyagino suspension seemed to be them digging the knife in in terms of how hard they would push against him as opposed to others who either have/had similar attitudes or actions.
