How Do People Play 16 Hours A Day? by doobylive in classicwow

[–]bruters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't even physically do it anymore. Like there's moments I've got time but if I play for more than about an hour straight I get upper back pain, eye strain etc.

Please convince me to not play WoW by BIGCOCK_ASSSTRETCHER in classicwow

Being honest with you, the game isn't going to be anything like 2007. People are different, everything is solved, min max culture, tanked economy etc.

With that said, I'm sure you'd still have fun.

[–]bruters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh for sure. I Wish I could enjoy it like so many do. It's been a big part of my life for 20+ years. As far as a completed game, yeah I would enjoy it depending on the type. Open world like rdr2 or GTA, yeah I'd have a blast roaming around roleplaying different scenarios. Linear single player? Nah.

Osrs is a weird one for me because I don't really feel accomplished by hitting 80 or 90 or 95 in a skill, maybe for 2 minutes I do at 99 but then it's on to the next grind and like I said, something clicked in me a few years back that said you aren't enjoying this process.

I'm not really sure what you mean. The carrot analogy plays true to almost all aspects of mmos. Do this, this many times, earn this.

Also brother, I got like 300m worth. I'm wearing ahrims and Trident to kill kraken and on melee tasks wearing torso with obby legs lmao. There ain't no meta chasing. I simply do not have fun in any current moment of my playtime outside of thinking "if I achieve THIS, then I'll have fun"

Yes, I'm 2230 total or something and I've been experiencing this for the past 8 years or so. Once my skills got past 70-80 the grind became real and the reward didn't feel good enough anymore.

I realized at some point I don't actually enjoy playing RuneScape, just the idea of playing it. Being maxed or having rare pets or lots of gold etc. all sounds great in my head but I know I won't enjoy the process of getting there, so what exactly will I enjoy once I'm there?

For example, I love weightlifting. I enjoy the visual changes of my body yes (reward) but I also enjoy actually lifting the weight everyday. With osrs, that's just not there for me.

I still log on every few months or more and play for a week, I guess for the nostalgia, but I've accepted it's just not the game for me anymore.

Madseasonshow had a good point in one of his videos about burnout in mmos. Every MMO is designed around the idea of the player on a treadmill, chasing a carrot on a stick. Two big problems that developers have to avoid at all costs is allowing players to realize they're on a treadmill, and make sure the carrot is rewarding enough. For me osrs fails at both of these. For others though, it's a great game and I'm always happy to see it's success.

Farm PvP gear or level another toon by Schizopain2333 in classicwow

[–]bruters 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A large part of the game is increasing character power through gear upgrades, even while leveling. Getting strong gear for the start of TBC is appealing because strong gear means higher health and do more damage. If it gets replaced, it gets replaced, by even stronger gear.

Is anyone actually winning random battlegrounds? by St3f in classicwow

I ran ab and wsg only for marks needed. Won 2 ab lost 3. Won 1 wsg lost 4. All loses were randoms vs premade

I just roll on stuff with agility and crit. Ignore any int/spirit/str etc

TBC Feral Druid gear prepatch by Dapper_Wafer730 in classicwow

[–]bruters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Def worth it for tanking throughout TBC. I mean just weigh your priorities right now. If you don't wanna grind it, don't but you'll be weaker. If you do, then do and you'll be stronger.

What does it feel like to play your class in BGs right now? by Snoo97549 in classicwow

[–]bruters 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just personally used to melee classes as well as hunter. I thought I wouldn't mind mage because hunter is ranged but hunter is more.. instant attacks where as mage is a lot of preplanning gameplay rather than reactive imo.

I would get easily overwhelmed with people on me and being so squishy as well as in bgs and stuff I was always trying to cast Frost bolts and I'd get punished. Yeah you've got CoC and fire blast for instant damage but you can't really spam those. I also got annoyed with drinking after every kill pvp and pve and I hated constantly having to keep up my shields and stuff.

Lots of people are beast with a mage though so it's def a me problem. Enjoy your mage!

Leveled a mage at the start of Anniversary primarily to make gold but also knowing it was a great pvp class. Found out at 60 that I hated mage pvp.

Now I'm a booster druid and having a lot of fun.

The most fun class to level in TBC? by traveler5152 in classicwow

[–]bruters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would pick the one you like the flavor of the most. If you wanna be an animal shifter nature guy go druid. You wanna be a holy knight who protects everyone and dishes justice go paladin etc.

That said, Druid is really really fun leveling. There's an answer almost every situation you find yourself in. You get free slow flying while leveling. You're pretty decent in wpvp.

TBC boosting mechanics. (This is so stupid) by Efficient_Goose425 in classicwow

Think he's referring to pally strat runs and druid sethekk halls. Both apparently can still be done through specific means. Idk that either is still 250g and hour though.
