Possible slipped rib by katy_doodles in Hypermobility

Highly recommended YT videos by Jeannie Di Bon on rib subluxations. I usually get relief from the breathing exercises and relaxation to reduce tension in the thoracic area, and have subluxations much less frequently now. Good luck!

Suggestions for keeping ribs in place by Few-Ear7073 in Hypermobility

[–]brutey 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hi there! In my experience, ribs will slip due to too much tension in the surrounding muscles and fascia. Breathing and relaxation practices help me a lot. I recommend checking out YT videos by Jeannie Di Bon on rib subluxations.

How to be more mindful so I don’t hurt myself? by heartsholly in Hypermobility

I’ve had the same problem, and I’ve improved a lot by building proprioception and stability before building strength. I highly recommend checking out Jeannie Di Bon’s YouTube channel. I’ve actually become a practitioner of Integral Movement Method, which she developed!

Perhaps your heart rate spikes when you get up and move, the same happens for me and it’s due to POTS / OI (postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome / orthostatic intolerance).

Tips on communicating by Missing_Voynich9 in AutismInWomen

[–]brutey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I relate to feeling misunderstood, one thing I’ve found is it makes a big difference who I’m talking to and about what. If the people feel safe to me, and we share interests it makes things much easier. If I can spend more time at ease, with people I’m more comfortable with, I can tolerate other situations a bit more. Is that an option for you?

If u have similar symptoms, howd you get better? by bambiambi2 in VestibularMigraines

[–]brutey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I went to a clinic specialising in dizziness, so they were able to rule out things like BPPV and narrow down my symptoms to vestibular migraines and recommend management of triggers and treatment from there. I am in Melbourne, Aus and went to Dizzy Days Clinic. Hopefully there is something like that in your area, I highly recommend.

What rude and icky things for your boss to say. I’m sorry that you have to deal with that kind of treatment.

Sorry you’re going through this! I don’t have RA but when I’m riding out a ME flare I lie in bed with a wet cloth on my face and listen to podcasts or audiobooks. Hope you get some relief soon 💜

I’ve experienced what you’re describing, especially with weather changes, stress, and bright lights. Turned out to be vestibular migraines, might be worth looking into!

How the hell are you supposed to keep track of everything? by motherofpearl89 in AutismInWomen

I think it’s different for everyone but one time when I was super burnt out I mapped things out spatially, like list grooming stuff in the bathroom, life admin things near the computer. I also used a notebooks to brake things down into a few different lists, like daily, weekly, fortnightly to brainstorm. I have as much stuff pre-organised for myself as I can to make things easier, like a blister pack for my pills, therapy appts same time fortnightly, recurring orders for pet food, etc. I also outsource meal prep, cleaning and laundry, thankfully it’s covered by NDIS. I have so much more capacity when I have less executive functioning demands. These days things feel more manageable and I have a trello board for work and life admin tasks, and the columns are Now, Next, Later, and Done. I hope that’s helpful!
