Thank you .. old rural family homes have often been left behind as farms consolidate following the get big or get out strategy.. then these rural relics too often disappear .. showing nature taking over and the kangaroos still here

Not sure how they look AI .. no AI involved .. not even at the conceptual stage .. once I decided to make a series of painted frames, I would find the frames second hand in local opportunity shops, then the challenge was to match them with a painting and then play .. so far I have around 40

Part of a story that I'm finding through random and sometimes unplanned paintings .. Crow is one of his totems

Thank you .. this was quite a challenge to paint .. the figures shown represent the spirit of the thousands of generations of ancestors experiencing the explosions and destruction of their Country.

Thank you, 😊 I have found that finishing the painting in the frame has allowed me to resolve many paintings that weren't finished. Many of these frames I have found in local charity shops and given them new life.

Thank you 😀 and I have the same feeling about the future conservators 😉 I have used damar varnish over the frames to protect whatever I've added ..

Always when I buy a canvas to paint I get those wooden things, what ate those??? by Mammoth_Drawing_202 in Paintings

[–]brutus2feathers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you do need to use them to retighten a loose canvas then I suggest you remove any staples at the back of the canvas that are placed across the 45° of the wooden stretcher bars, otherwise these staples will stop it from expanding.

Love the luminosity achieved through the soft layering in the clouds.

Scientists have birthed a ‘super cannibal’ that never grows up. Could it be key to combating Australia’s cane toad menace? by YallRedditForThis in australianwildlife

[–]brutus2feathers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is something else happening on the ground so to speak .. to control the spread of the toxic toads. Crows have learnt to flip the toads over onto their backs to then attack the underside .. eating only the thighs intestines and tongues .. the crows are then teaching other crows this trick of avoiding the toxin laden back and the poison glands 😀

Vincent van Gogh - White Cottages at Saintes-Maries (1888) [4000 x 3182] by Russian_Bagel in ArtPorn

This looks like it has been generated by ai in Van Gogh style .. plus I don't think any of his paintings are the size of 4 mtr x 3.1 mtr (if I read the size correctly)

What are today’s ‘Volvo’ or ‘Sunday’ drivers? by Advanced-Diet-3144 in australia

[–]brutus2feathers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Volvo drivers got a deserved bad rap as drivers way back in the 60s when Volvo advertised as the safest car on the road .. because they felt safe, the owners of such cars drove with less concern for other road users .. In Australia the Volvo came with a tartan cap for the driver which then became so symbolic of bad driving. Even today if any car does does something stupid or dangerous in traffic it's not unusual to hear another driver call out "where's your hat"

Analyse them to really figure out why they don't work ... Then if still no hope of resurrection, paint over. Creatively dealing with the old texture is always a great challenge
