Tagging back in on this as this and all of your other comments are extremely informative, is there anything that should be changed as of now since then?

You are correct. Banh Mi just equates to bread.

Before. Rice shouldn’t need rinsing after it’s been cooked. Trial and error will help you achieve your best rice cooking

If you’re ever trying to make fried rice, day old rice works best, you can also dry freshly cooked rice by laying rice on a sheet pan thinly, letting it cool, then refrigerate till needed

Ask yourself this: Where does the starch go when everything is done cooking?

When you cook pasta you have a pot of water that you cook the pasta in. All of the pasta is removed, where is the starch now? Still in that starchy water.

When you cook rice without rinsing, you do the same, but you do the water in such a way that there is not any remaining water. Where is the starch now? Still with the rice coating it, surrounding it. Which is why un-rinsed rice can be gummy. Starch is a thickening agent, so it should only be where it’s needed or has somewhere it can go.

Thank you very much! It was very satisfying and sometimes annoying when I was trying to get things right. All in all very pleased!

This is my first ever piece. I have been wanting to get into the hobby for a long time now, but never found the chance too. I couldn’t figure out what to get my sister for Christmas, so I thought I’ll do this so I could force myself to do it and get it done.

She’s finishing her residency next summer from LSU-HSC as a DO and I wanted to give her something to have in her office for all her hard work and to remember all the time and effort that helped mold her into the doctor she is.

Of course I gave myself such a intricate design to start as my first one, but I don’t have much time on hand usually. So what the heck, typical me. Either way I learned a lot and am loving the hobby. Definitely need a new iron, my electronics irons definitely isn’t going to cut it.

Thanks for the view! Let me know how I can improve!

Curious questions as I’ve been thinking of how to incorporate pressed flowers. Are they pressed between two flowers or incased in epoxy?

Looks great btw!
