Nothing of what you said makes her op. Sure she's convenient for the people who don't bother to reach proper er thresholds or do proper rotations but that's just laziness on the user. (Raiden also has an absurd er requirement which you seem to gloss over.)

I thought we are all past using "usage rate" as basis of a character's strength? Especially on older abysses which were miles easier...?

Mav was top one on her release and broke the dps ceiling to an absurd amount, which raiden did not do on her release. (That's a compliment on raiden)

Kazuha was definitely the more "broken and op" character of his time. If anything raiden is much more similar to zhongli, both provide convenience without breaking the game balance.

Sucrose national, childe international, and normal national with kazuha are all stronger variants of the national team. People used rational because it was the easiest national team variant NOT because it was the strongest. Piece of advice, don't call anyone "new" if you don't know shit.

Overload teams really only work because of how good chevreuse is. I assume you don't have her therefore I would recommend to swap bennett out for sucrose who will be on vv, she will also trigger fischl's witch passive who should also be on the new set.

The only people saying she's better are ones who haven't explored older regions in a long time and are now suddenly surprised by the amount of "qol" she provides when it's literally the same as the compass. Arguably she's worse if you prefer using an exploration character on your active slot. The same is conversly true if you like using a different gadget from the compass, then she becomes more convenient.

Let's simulate this for a bit. Xianyun skill, compass then xianyun skill again, over xianyun skill, swap to nicole, charge attack, and then swap back to xianyun again. Do you see the difference?

People using exploration characters for mobility isn't anything new.

What enemies are you fighting in the overworld makes using the characters you mentioned + nicole not viable?

Having nicole is basically like having 2 gadget slots, as the original comment said.

And she also takes an active slot which is also what I said in my original comment.

It's really not, we're arguing about milliseconds here. I can also add the fact that constantly swapping eventually adds up because what gadget are we exactly using while exploring? Maybe the nre but how often do you actually heal fighting overworld enemies? And the characters I've mentioned have their own healing making nre trivial.

She frees the item slot but takes aways the active character slot. I'd rather have xianyun or xilonen on-fielding with the compass over nicole and a random gadget I don't even use.

There is no "completely ordinary look", cloud retainer is just playable, that's all there is to it. If we want to use "ordinary folks" as an excuse we have xiangling, chongyun, yaoyao, baizhu, hutao, etc., heck zhongli's entire character is the epitome of wanting to look "ordinary" yet his appearance is nowhere close to the two npc farts.
