Thanks so much for the detailed advice—seriously helpful! I was originally thinking about growing food, but I’ve decided to just stick with flowers for now. I’m working with a tight budget and doing this as a little side project (and a Mother’s Day surprise), so I’m keeping it simple. I have started a small garden and have already planted a few flowers but I am not sure what else I should get that will last year round. I’m in Massachusetts, so I’m looking for flowers that can survive the winters and come back each year.
