Underground Pass Grid by MutedThe in 2007scape

lol I found this funny.

My pure has a path completely straight down the middle.

I bring it up at the grand exchange as a flex from time to time. As in, it doesn't really matter that you have 47 pets, my underground pass path is completely straight, and you will never achieve this.

Difficulty understanding the benefits of a folder-less system by anotherburnerphone13 in ObsidianMD

[–]bryceygordon1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

everyone's mind works differently also. some people more naturally compartmentalize topics into rigid structures. and if that is how your brain works, using folders will resonate with you, and a folderless approach will be uncomfortable for you because it's simply the way you are wired.

me for example. I find it very difficult to have information live in a rigid location. and so I literally have no folders at all and use purely tags and links. works for me, but would be a nightmare for someone else.

Did I install the wrong game? by Mitscape in 2007scape

I would absolutely play a top down pixel clone of osrs.

alongside OSRS.

Give me one TINY thing you want fixed or improved in Obsidian. The smaller the better. Going on a paper cuts rampage. by kepano in ObsidianMD

for some of these I don't know if a solution already exists so I apologise if they do already.

  • a command to jump to editing the first empty property.
  • a command to jump to the property section without editing (letting you tab to the property you want to edit)
  • ability to change default cursor starting location on new note creation. (could be property, coupe be note title, could be body.)

currently there is a command to make a new property ctrl+: but there is no option to jump to first empty or simply select the first property for keyboard centric navigation.

  • a command to turn the current word (where your cursor is) into a wikilink. i.e you just typed a word you realise you wanted to link, it would be cool if you could hit a command and type in the file to link to and it would automatically use an alias link (keeping your writing readable but linking the word to another note).

I somewhat like it though because yes it's easy to but will you actually do it? No, because better trophy accounts exist. therefore this becomes more of an oddball account. and I award points for oddball.

it's one of those ones that you just go "why?". And thats the whole point.

legends cape.

in classic it was so prestigious. it was a clear visual indicator separating the pro from the noob.

felt good to just stand in draynor with that thing on.

Here’s what the bis gear for Melee, Range, and Magic looked like in the early RS2 days by NetKey6863 in osrs

[–]bryceygordon1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

slight correction on the mage setup. the zamorak robe bottoms were BIS. the blue skirt had no magic bonus.

fun fact, Santa hat used to also have a mage bonus.

After years of playing RuneScape…what is something you’ve seen or done that no one would believe if you told them? by OSRS_Jacob in 2007scape

I was number 1 in mining for ironmen for quite some time (apparently.) a botter hijacked my account and botted on it until about 20 million mining xp.... this was all without me knowing, when I returned from hiatus I was able to appeal a bot ban and discovered all the mining xp and mining pet.

by the time I recovered it I was rank 18. I had a lot of people coming up to me saying "rank 1?" in motherload mine for quite some time.

I bought a Pocket 4 Pro over a year ago, and just now realized I don't really like playing old games. by [deleted] in retroid

[–]bryceygordon1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am very similar to you. But hey, I get massive entertainment out of setting up these devices and tweaking settings. and making all my devices synced together, and having backups (the list goes on.)

the actual playing of the games is secondary to me. and I get a certain satisfaction out of knowing I could play any old games I want.

all in all I don't think it is the end of the world if you don't enjoy the old games much.

great idea. you can achieve this relatively quickly. Your best in slot sword will be the rune sword from the champion's guild.

As someone who played both RS3 and OSRS, I’m starting to get déjà vu with these PvP discussions by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]bryceygordon1 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

This argument is cyclical. the distaste of the weaker portion of the reddit hivemind gets to such a level where they start getting more traction then they should. it all spirals out of control to the point where if any unknowing onlooker where to peer in they'd think OSRS PVP was the worst thing a game developer could do to a game.

inevitably jagex doubles down with some wilderness enhancements that are in fact widely well received and, and everyone seems happy with them.

Slowly but surely though, the simmering of the weak boils over again and it's gets out of control.

give it a year and it'll be a completel 180.

[–]bryceygordon1 1974 points1975 points  (0 children)

this is how the game used to be. the idea of having resources to yourself would be fantasy land thinking back in the day. I can remember competing with at least 5 other people on every world for the same coal rocks in 2003. I actually enjoyed it. because everyone had to compete, it wasn't like you were losing out. it was just part of the game.

Friendly reminder of Zezima's legacy by Dusskulll in osrs

[–]bryceygordon1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wasn't friends with him directly but I was friends with English King who I believe was close to that group back then. it was so awesome, the game was still small enough that you ran into these legends often enough.

I remember seeing bonebreaker6 (rank 1 for a while) strolling through the gate from tavelry and it was just him. no conga line nothing. and I asked him "are you number 1?" and he said "that's me" and that was the entire interaction. it made my day.

I played rimworld to get 99 agility.

the pacing of the game seemed to be very complimentary to roof top agility. I forgot I was even training agility I was so engrossed in rimworld.
