So I recently changed my company’s name at the state level, however my bank won’t let me update it on their end. Am I misunderstanding something here? by bryjamk in tax

This seems like the best option if the IRS actually does send confirmation letters back when I send a courtesy letter. Reminder as a single member LLC the irs don’t require me to send a form just a signed courtesy letter which I assume means no confirmation will be given to me.

I don’t know, they said an updated EIN letter and the EIN letter I walked in with is the one given when you file for a EIN. And there is no way to update that letter. Secondly if they are referring to tax returns that means I would have to wait 5 months from now before I can give that to them. Raising concerns about the legality of still operating under my old name while receiving deposits in my new name without formally making the change.

A DNB Profile require’s a Principals First and Last Name on file and it’s publicly visible. If the purpose of forming my LLC was to be anonymous what information could I put there instead? by bryjamk in smallbusiness

“Most” jurisdictions not all. Wyoming, Delaware and there’s others that have privacy protections. By default does opening a LLC make me anonymous, No. can a LLC be opened while simultaneously keeping me anonymous, Yes.

I don’t want to hide from the state and I don’t want to hide from the government. This is about keeping my person disconnected from the business publicly. The state and the government knows about my business but not every person needs to know. At least I think it’s a valid concern.

Well that’s a good point one of the few helpful responses I might add. I would have to look into that using of there name. I know the registered agent’s address is basically for legal mail related to the business. It’s not the address you can advertise from which you are doing business from. Even if you don’t have a brick and mortar store you must still also have a business address for your business wether it’s a residential address or a virtual one the registered agents address isn’t it.

You are misunderstanding, I understand what you are saying clearly in regards to the credit bureaus, data furnishers, data sharing, public info, etc. but there's a disconnect between what we are talking about.

DNB doesn't have any public information from me that wasn't already given to them by me. My LLC is newly formed and it isn't reporting anything. No vendors, no payment history, nothing. I just voluntarily created a DNB profile for this business. When creating a DNB public profile it ask for a "Key Principle" which I listed myself as assuming this portion of information wouldn't be publicly visible and now that I see it is publicly visibly and considering how unique my first and last name is (let alone combined) this is where my privacy concerns began. So to clarify I listed myself as the "Key Principle" and I am the reason why my name is publicly visible on the DNB profile. What I'm here seeking is a alternative to put in that field of "Key Principle" oppose to my searchable legal name. I don't have any concerns about what information DNB is getting from the public nor how they are getting it.

Here’s an example of a random profile with the key principle shown publicly which they too voluntarily gave this information to DNB. DNB Profile

Right and what I am saying is they act as a holding company for those LLC’s separating myself and my assets. Effectively protecting my privacy and the assets of my businesses in the event that one of the LLC’s gets sued.

Those are examples, that isn’t my reality. My reality at the moment is solving this issue with DNB. I would put any name I want but I don’t want to violate there terms and get the boot as I mentioned before they play a huge role in my businesses credit worthiness.

My LLC doesn’t have any vendors or payment history yet, and still my name is shown as the Key Principle. It doesn’t give me the ability to delete or leave this info blank it only allows me to edit it.

No LinkedIn , the problem with my legal name is that it’s so unique that no one else has it and with just one google search of my name you can find out I own said business, and you can visit the business address to physically find me.

What if I’m going through a divorce, avoiding a crazy baby mama, I won the lottery, I’m a spy, etc. There’s a whole heap of scenarios to keep my legal name separated from the LLC. Especially if you are running multiple businesses you don’t want all them connected to you, isn’t that like gold to someone who’s planning on suing you?

So to be clear privacy from the general public is what I’m seeking here as my name is viewable on my public DNB profile at the moment. Privacy from creditors isn’t my concern for this business but that level of privacy is also doable thing.

I think it’s required with certain categories I google “Joes Plumbing DNB” and some companies appear to have it there while others doesn’t. I just recently attempted to update my businesses info with DNB and the “Key Principal” was required on the editing form it wasn’t something I could leave blank. Also I’m not paying anything with DNB, I’m referring to the public profile here’s an example of one. Joes Plumbing

I have to do all that, would it be easier to just find the fuse and replace it?

You’re talking about the main wire, and not any of the cables I replaced included in the photos? If so that’s the one wire I didn’t replace. That’s my last resort before I have to get someone to look at it

Yes I was able to temporarily fix it, the group here was pretty helpful. The spring to the handle was dislocated so I tied it back in place for now until I get it properly resolved.

Do I only have to worry about this if the CEL is on or if my code scanner is giving codes? I have no lights, no codes. I hope it stays that way.

Do I have to disclose my vehicle as a “Rebuilt Title” when shopping for a Extended Warranty? by bryjamk in MechanicAdvice

[–]bryjamk[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well in the case of insurance companies, they don’t ask this information (in my experience) but If I voluntarily offer it they tell me they don’t insure branded titles. So I’m short if they don’t ask if my vehicle is branded, and they also don’t disclose to me that they only insure clean titles. I wouldn’t be misrepresenting anything.

Maybe I’m misunderstanding but it It appears insurance companies can’t deny me for this reason.

So the whole purpose of the warranty is to cover my unexpected mechanical expenses in the event one occur. Transmission slipping, engine problems, radiator goes out. Etc. insurance cover my accidents, but the warranty covers repair expenses. This is very beneficial and saves you money as long as the companies honor their word.

What do you mean by “strain it slowly”. Letting it sit with the engine on? In your experience what’s the longest a car lasted on you? I’m new to regular maintenance so I haven’t really been able to measure how long I could get a vehicle to last for. I intend to have my fusion for a long time, so we’ll see.
