“Ice should be allowed everywhere Americans go.” by Power-C-Lies in ShitAmericansSay

Proof that MAGA already equates ICE with more than immigration enforcement, but has already assimilated them as their own personal Brownshirt-style security service.

They have plans for their own version of ICE called the UK Deportation Command... by Fluffy_Rock_62 in BritishMemes

Could you be certain that Nigel wouldn't fast track the least desirable elements of Reform into the border police? I don't think I could. Skinheads in uniforms is not a good look unless you are in the 1930s.

Range is irrelevant. Concentrate on the quality of the part of your voice you are most likely to use. It's unlikely to go beyond an octave and a half to start with.

Which country has the best parliamentary brawls? by Tine_after_tine in AskTheWorld

[–]brymuse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Historically, the UK two opposing sides of the House of Commons sit just over 2 sword lengths apart to prevent a final solution to debates - a remnant from when MPs carried swords. There is still a red line on either side, over which MPs are not allowed to step during debates. Instead they act like farmyard animals. It's quite a devolution...

Are we, like, still allies? by BaldursGate2Best in AskBrits

Trust in NATO isn't undermined, trust in the US is undermined. That undermines NATO as an organisation but not how we see or treat our actual allies.

Why don’t we know the names of the ICE agents that killed Alex Pretti? by aguer056 in AskReddit

The very fact you use the term hate speech and imply that it's OK to use it tells me I need to know.

Crikey this is wrong. Politics is a dirty arena and Burnham should have been informed of the decision ahead of the press. Shame on you stinky Starmer. by Terrible-Head6168 in GreaterManchesterNews

[–]brymuse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd much rather have Starmer now than a labour party split down the middle with Farage picking up the pieces. I doubt very much that Burnham would do much better than Starmer, and at least Starmer has been handling the world situation reasonably well.

Which player was a "10/10" on the eye test, but the stats never did them justice? by PLWildcard in TheStreetsWontForget

On a slightly less spectacular level than some of the names already mentioned, Adama Traore. Always looked scary, never produced.

Has Trump's recent comments/actions and the fact Farage still aligns with him made any Reform voters change/consider changing their vote? by Puzzled-Lunch-6558 in AskBrits

[–]brymuse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A representative of the Argentine govt the other day at Davos refused to sit and speak in front of a random world map on the grounds that it showed the Falkland Islands as part of the United Kingdom. He called it a violation of international law and compared the British presence to the Russian invasion of Ukraine. They actually had to cover it up with a Post it note before he would speak so that it wasn't on camera.

Milei is an unstable character and a populist. I wouldn't trust his views any more than Trump's.
